He is up and coming and would be a great addition to our wings. While Valencia & Nani are playing big teams, Hazard will get experience against smaller teams

Jack Rodwell £15m (18yrs)

A great, young and english holding midfielder

Di Maria £20m (21yrs)

Even if Giggs does not retire after this season, the next would sadly be his last and Di Maria has played in CL (I think) but he has definitely played in Europa League.(He also tormented Everton). He would be playing pretty regularily.

Gourcuff (23yrs) or Hamsik(22yrs) £20m-£30m

These players are great as they are attacking midfielders who hopefully would supply Rooney and also get around 10 goals a season in the league and with Canales loaned back for a year they can get PL experience. When Scholes eventually retires the one we sign out of these go first choice and Canales second choice.

Lloris or Akinfeev or Neuer all (23yrs) £10m-£15m

Great keepers all of them and would be perfect long term replacements for Edwin

ok ur saf u have a big squad of players that have won the prem 3yr in a row u got young players like Evans Valencia smalling RAF Fabio obertan nani gibson welbk ect coming thru and the club u love is in masive debt. And ur planing ur strat for next Sumer. You have say 45m max forget the 100m it ain't going to hapen. What r u going to do? Well buying 1 player for a masive sum ain't going to hapen so u can forget villa sillva ribery ect. U want young players who can play if pos in more than 1 position at a sensibul price say10-15m. So who would you buy? Rodwell is the player that comes to my mind can play defense and midfield for 15m+ and we loan them a player or 2 as well To sweten the deal. Who would u buy for around 15m who's young talented and versitile? I woundnt sell any1 unless they wanted to leave I'd keep owen ect no point keying them go tbh.

The Michael Owen role at Utd this season

Had this conversation with a friend of mine the other night who's a EPL player.
he hinted to me that Owen's role under SAF is 2-fold.

Not only will he get to play enough EPL/Cup and CL games to enable him to pick up a winners medal if we pick up any trophies at the end of the season,
but also he's been brought in to help: Rooney, Macheda, Diouf & Wellbeck pick great knowledge of positional play in the box (Michaels Special talent).

In a recent interview on MUTV, Owen stated himself that he would not complain if he played no more games from nw until the end of the season as long as UTD win trophies - Interesting comment to make from a player thats no where near past his best yet !!!

What do you guys think.... ? Did part of SAF plans to bring Owen to UTD was to allow Owen to pass on is great knowledge to the likes of Rooney and Co ?
Especially in training games ????

I mean Rooney is defo improving in his box playing at the moment, with amazing headers and goal poaching play !

it's really funny when ppl want David Silva to come to United; but they 4get that we already have a Very Similare player already who has almost the same dribbling style and i also prefer him over Silva anytime!! PARK JI-SUNG, whenever he plays the team is a whole lot faster and he runs all around the field and dribbles very well!! and he scores pretty good goals aslo aswell as assisting them!! but ofcourse my first team choice would still be Valencia and Nani, but park is a perfect back-up for them two, and by bringing Silva in u can't bench Silva!!

+ Park and Nani were Phenominal last week vs arsenal and his goal was also very Amazing as he dribbled the ball from the center line and scored a well low driven shot!!

American’s can’t love Football? Much Less United...Right?

I am always astounded when surfing the Talking Red’s forum when others can’t believe that I love football, simply because I am an American. For some reason the general consensus of us American’s are that we are fat, gun toting, George Bush Cronies who could never love a sport that we aren’t any good at. I hate to burst some xenophobic bubbles out there, but soccer is starting to surge in the United States and I for one am thrilled that it has. Yes I said soccer; don’t hang me up just yet.

Football is far and away my favorite sport and the more that I submerge myself into it; the more it seems to take over my life. In fact besides my wonderful family, I can’t think of anything that I love more. I appreciate American sports. The NFL is a terrific game that combines collisions, skill, and is truly a battle of wits. Basketball seems to ignite passion in other cultures and can be exciting when played the right way. I happen to love Ice Hockey for its speed and passion. Baseball can be interesting because of its deep history. Yet all of these sports pale in comparison to the beautiful game. What other spectacle involves so many players from all over the world, working in cohesion just to see a leather orb burst into a mesh net? What other sport provokes men to sing silly songs and hug one another while rooting for men in the same colored shirts? What other sport provides speed, sensibility, insensibility, theatrics, skill, and tactics in the way the football does?

When I was first exposed to football, I must admit I did not fall in love. Yet I was very intrigued. Why do all these people go nuts to see a game finish 0-0? Can I really follow a sport in which my local team could never be considered world class or the best? MLS is a decent lunch pail league yet not one of these boys could play for a great international squad. If I was to learn this game whom do you even support. These are questions that harm the game in the States. For me time would settle all of these questions.

Football first started to place itself on my radar in the form of a video game. I know that many of you will think that I am a Cretan for bowing to the idiot box. Yet, I was a teenage boy in need of entertainment. A mate of mine told me that the new Fifa game was actually pretty fun. I told him I would try it out and he would pound the stuffing out of me with Roberto Baggio and the Italian squad. Oh how I hated that guy. It seemed a bit unfair that he would always choose the Italian squad and I would be the USA. It was like trying to win a war with a rubber band while my opponent had a Panzer tank. So I suggested that we pick Club Squads. He would choose Bayern because he was German. I then decided to choose Manchester United. Sounded like a cool team. I always liked Manchester, it seemed like all of my favorite bands were from Manchester. Joy Division, The Smiths, Morrissey, the Stone Roses, and Oasis. Well wouldn’t you know it, I finally won. I think it was 2-1. Regardless, the result wasn’t important, I just liked the announcer sounding off, “Van Nistelrooy…He scores”.

I have always been a huge music fan. I love concerts and I especially love British bands. Unfortunately I let my country down when it comes to my musical tastes. As a gun toting, Bush loving, fat Cretan, I should value my musical roots. I just don’t though. I am an all or nothing guy and when I submerge myself into something, I go all out. I want to know where and how this “thing” came about. As I started to read about many of my favorite musical artists, I started to see a common thread. They all seemed to love, besides Oasis of course, Manchester United. In fact, did you know that Morrissey’s birth certificate actually says that he was born in Old Trafford? Apparently his father loved United more than he loved little Stephen. No wonder the man is so depressed. As a teenage boy, you love your idols and Morrissey being one of mine made me think that I going to give this United thing a shot. So I started to read. I wanted to find out why this club seemed to be calling my name.

Over the coming years I started to seek out football in any way I could get it. At this time in the U.S. the only regularly televised matches were all World Cup centric. While the football was great, it just wasn’t on the television enough to give you a thorough knowledge of the sport. I started to recognize some names and began to pick my favorite players. The tiny red head in the center of the England midfield was intriguing. I was convinced he could hit a beer can with a pass from 60 yards out. Hum, He is a United player. That Beckham guy is a bit fiery, I can relate to that bloke and what do you know, United player. So, United was certainly going to be my squad. Sometimes you don’t pick a team, it picks you and once it does, you cannot change your allegiance.

If I was going to go “all out” on the football thing I need to be able to see these league games. I am not the casual fan type who can watch 10 games a season and feel content. So I started searching the internet to find where I could see these games regularly. Some of my American fans will remember inventions like the ITVN box. I had that awful invention set up in my basement and would watch every game, frame by frame trying to watch a United match in less than 2 hours. The picture would freeze, the commentary would sputter and I loved every second of it. I was indoctrinated. My buddies were ready to have an intervention because they were convinced that I joined a religious cult, one devoted to the Devil, the red devil. In point of fact, they were right.

If we win 10 of the last 13 games, draw 2 and lose 1, we will have 88 points( 30 +2+0+56).

If we win 11, draw 1 and lose 1, we have 90 points...

Could we have a scenario where we might have the same number of points as Cheatski on the last day of the EPL schedule?

Does this mean we need to have a play-off game? Or would the goal difference decide who gets the title?

because now only 2 points separate us.

If we get 88 points from the first scenario and chelscum get 88 too, from winning 9, drawing 3 and losing 1, they will get 30 points + their current tally of 58= 88 points!

Of course although this is hypothetical, there can be a few permutations but with a similar trend of at least 9 to 11 wins, 1 to 3 draws and 1, 2 or nil losses( for the top two teams in this 2 horse race).

So we need to hammer in the goals....if possible hit 3 past Villa for a start.

Of course everyone hopes we win all the remaining games...that would be ideal....since even Arsenal is beaten by cheatski, we need to do the job.

the most important is always the opening goal..........The big difference at the moment is we have proven we can beat the top teams away whereas chelscum has not...they have yet to prove that after their away draw with Hull City.

Reliance bidding for Liverpool?

Reliance Industries and the Sahara Group are reportedly bidding for a 51 per cent stake in English football club Liverpool.

Liverpool is presently owned by American duo George Gillett and Tom Hicks, who acquired the club in February 2007.

However, reported disagreements between Gillett and Hicks, and the lack of fans' support, have led to rumours that that international buyers such as the Dubai International Capital would bid for the club.

The Liverpool club emerged as a takeover target for Mukesh Ambani, the seventh-richest man in the world, as pressure mounted on Hicks and Gillett to cut a deal to sell the club, The Times reported on Tuesday.

Both Ambani, chairman of Reliance and Subroto Roy, chairman of Sahara have reportedly each tendered similar bids to pay off Liverpool's 237 million pounds debt in return for a 51 per cent stake in the club.

Liverpool chief executive, Christian Purslow, however denied any knowledge of bids by Ambani and Roy, but The Times reported that approaches began as early as November and that some preliminary talks had taken place.

Each deal requires that the present owners make a commitment to take no dividends or expenses out of the club for three years to allow the club to resume a secure financial basis.

The Americans were reportedly unpopular with club's supporters and the hostility had increased as it had become clear that there were no money available to strengthen the team.

In April 2008, business magazine Forbes ranked Liverpool as the fourth most valuable football team in the world, after Manchester United, Real Madrid and Arsenal.

CARLING CUP FINAL TICKET FARCE

What is the point of paying out for a season ticket and then having your bank account/credit card raped by the club for cup tickets , to end up watching the Carling Cup Final in my local pub .

This system sucks , and I will probably say sod it , I`m not renewing my season ticket as a direct result of not getting a ticket .

Why oh why do 30,000 tickets "disappear" into the ether at the football league whilst genuine fans who have spent over £1000 pounds watching the team all season get reamed yet again .

If You want to keep loyal fans you need to address this problem .With all the unrest on matchdays over the owners , this disgusting lack of reward for my , and many other fans loyalty , means you will have more and more empty seats .Remember , you will only get so many "TOURISTS" .

Anyone feeling the same , VENT YOUR SPLEEN ON HERE , if anyone from the club actually reads , or cares , about issues posted on here maybe , just maybe they will try to sort it out in future .
