Ok I have tried to stay positive but that was another DISMAL performance...
The defence's incosistency has meant that the midfield once again is way too deep and the distance between the midfield and attack is too long so they just belt balls upfield like a 3rd div. team. pathetic.
Yes Stadium of Light is a tough venue and sunderland has done pretty well bla bla bla...that does not excuse the lack of flow, penetration, will and decent passing.
Let's put some perspective into this...is this side able to win the league with the performances of late...no...but i dont really mind that but i do mind the lack of entertaining football which is the reason I am a fan of united!!
Oshea was terrible and disappeared sometimes, scholes was hardly invovled, owen and macheda didnt have a lot of supply, anderson tried to fight and bring the ball foward (only him and nani actually tried to make some forward runs) but got caught in possession sometimes.
Nani's new confidence is great but now he tries to go on his own which does not work when he runs into a barrier of 3 players instead of passing it....
robert greco:Let's be honest. We have no offense. Period end of story
1) O'Shea did well today. People were complaining that Evra had played poorly in recent weeks. Now that he's been rested/dropped people are complaining that Evra didn't play. Can't win there.
2) We just travelled away to Valencia, and travelled away again to Sunderland. Rotation is necessary.
3) Owen, confidence would have been sky high after his goal against Bolton. Maybe not.
4) Park, natural winger? People here have been incessantly slating him for the past month. But I agree Macheda on the left looked out of place.
5) You mentioned Owen, Berbatov and Hernandez should have played. Surely we wouldn't have started all three.
At the end of the day, we have had a notorious record for losing games after midweek away CL matches. You should understand that many players such as Evra, Park and Berbatov have to be rested. Sunderland was a difficult game, and I think SAF rotated well to preserve our unbeaten record.
I regret watching the game against Sunderland just now, was that really United? why do I feel that United has no penetration ability at all... only thing United players were doing was pass to left, to right, to back, then failed long range delivery/crossing, and same pattern repeating till end of game.. WHERE'S THE GOAL? garbage playing no creativity at all, and useless midfield, NO IM NOT FAKE FAN!
Y. Nir:We went there looking for a win and we left lucky to have a point. I can't understand this loss of form, but I hope we recover it quickly. I'm in China at the moment where it's 12:20 AM already, I was having trouble keeping my eyes open before the game started because I was so tired, and now I can't see how I'm going to sleep.
Don't mean to be a damp towel but FOR GOODNESS SAKE, WHAT WAS THAT? Starting with the formation from MARS!! Seriously that was the weirdest formation i've ever seen! It didn't work at all! I'm just a bit angry and confused because we were looking for a win and then to just go ahead and put the weakest attacking formation, i mean it's just baffling! Seriously SAF and the guy, your giving the press way too much credit and justification for the non-sense they posting! That was a really painful match to watch, SERIOUSLY PAINFUL! I..... No words!
It is not the usual Man Utd to have played 7 games and yet to hit top gear. Judging by the attributes of the entire team, I think that it is not hard to score a 100% win record in the league.
Surely Sir Alex is able to utilise his squad and tactics more effectively, no?
well, there's the answer to your question. that game was a waste of time.
The 2nd team of MU is not good enough. It is quite lucky to gain a point in this match...
Things certaintly don't look good when, not once, but twice you see Vidic running in from the left flank. A 0-0 FT score is definitely flattering for us, granted how we played at the first half.
Some may say that it's the 'start of the season' and that we'll always find our form back, but the level of play is worrying. While I admire Scholes and Fletcher, I must say that they seemed tired and disinterested today. It is sad to see Owen and Macheda having little to no service from the midfield and when they do, they don't make full use of their limited chances.
While I am throughly gutted by our performance today, I must say that there are definitely some positives to be taken from this match. Berbatov and Hernandez both seem to be a promising and lively pair. Having Rio and Vidic back together and keeping a clean sheet is fantastic as well.
I dearly hope that we will find our form sooner than later and turn the tables on Chelsea and Arsenal. Cheers to them drawing 0-0 tomorrow as well. :)
