i think i would go for Maradona coz the guy single handedly won trophies for not only Argentina but Napoli as well which is major factor consdering how difficult the italian league is.but pele was a class as well so it's one of those things where you try to choose one then somthing in your mind bings out points for the other to make it a tie.

As the story goes - "A man once bump into Pele at LA airport. Being a football fan he ask 'can i have an autograph of the best player in te world please'?. Sure came the reply & as Pele sign he said 'by the way, im not the greatest footballer in the world, George Best is'....

Thats good enough for me!!

Maradona fantastic player but Pele edge it -- IMO , two great feet & great in the air
