    Re: WAZZA THE NEW GAZZA?

i sincerely hope not. rooney's been so good for 4 seasons and last season he surpassed the previous 3 by becoming our most important player.

gazza is my second favourite player ever, after beckham and his story is a very sad one, he could have been up there in the same breath as pele and maradona (maradona actually said "this man is my natural successor to the best player in the world")
rooney can be that good aswell and has such a future ahead of him aswell as a present, i can't believe people are questioning if he'll ever be good again, i think it's impossible for a man with that ability to not ever reach the heights again.

differences between the two is that i feel rooney's problem, when it has been conquerered, will not trouble him again, but gazza had a trouble for the whole of his career and still has it.

and rooney has yet to set the world alight at a world cup...

I don't want to think of that ... that's a very sad story what happened to Gazza.
