I do not mean a challenge in title contension I just mean that they are a team who could knock us out of cups and they could take points of us in the league.

I agree they look good. And never underestimate your enemies, with the right amount of luck and flair, I can see spurs break into the top four.

thay got a good first 11 but no strength in depth and their midfield dont look like a side that is going to take to tackling to much

    Tottenham . . . maybe a real threat.

I have always been a fan of the way which Tottenham play there attacking football but their lack of a good defense and fitness has always kept them from becoming a threat to the top four. Also the lack of a decent manager has not helped the situation. But since the appointment of Juande Ramos I have recently become concerned for a number of reasons.

Firstly their general play has got better, they seem more motivated and determined. Also he has put them on diet plans which has dramatically improved their fitness. So the team plays better, which is a concern, and this is without the number of good transfers he has made.

Lets have a look at the proposed first team for the 2008-2009 season:

                         Gomes

    Hutton   Woodgate   King   Bale

    Bentley   Modric   Huddlestone   Jenas

          Berbatov     Bent/Giovanni

Subs: Alnwick, Dawson, Zokora, Lennon and Bent/Giovanni

(Just a predicted team from the way I rate the team)

So lets see whos has he brought in? Well there is Gomes, Hutton, Woogate, Bentley, Modric, Giovanni and possibly Asharvin.

So where has he improved? Well firstly he started by bringing in two good defenders which is an area which they definetly needed to improve on. Then he went on to Modric a well rated attacking midfielder who performed well in the Euro's. Then Giovanni a highly rated young striker and by the looks of pre-season games looks a very good buy. Also he was a cheap signing. Next Gomes, he has kept a clean sheet in 60% of his matches for PSV, an impressive feat. Also he has to be better than Robinson or Cerny. The final singing Bentley, I do not need to say more because we all know about him and know he will be a great addition.

So he has improved the defense and also added to the attack.

So with the team improved by his tactics and coaching and the team being strengthened through good signings I think that they can be a threat this season and maybe knock Livepool out of their top four spot.
