Re: What was your reason to support Manchester United?

Im from Sweden and when I was 8 or 9 my best friend was a United supporter. I got my first United shirt (Scholes) on Cyprus when our families were on vacation. The second reason was David Beckham and his freekicks, he became my idol. And then came Van Nistelrooy, he became my favourite striker of all time, I cant explain it but its just right there in my heart.

i supported utd as first team i actually saw and they got me into football with the style of football they played the quality of players they had, it wasn't trophy's that did it for me it was the spirit that the team showed and desire, as well as watching the 1999 CL final which the style they won that game not to mention the hunger they showed to come back and win made them the team for me

Re: What was your reason to support Manchester United?

I started supporting Manchester United in 1989 when I was 7 years old. Gary Pallister was the reason. Pallister was my favourite player for Middlesbrough, my home town and when he signed for United so did I. At the time Manchester United weren't winning trophies and I did not know any other Manchester United fans but that didn't bother me, I was happy watching them play and cheering them on. Gary Pallister continued to be my favourite player for two more seasons, but then a certain 17 year old Welsh winger became my number 1 player and he still is. Over the years I have had many people telling me I must be a glory hunter but that is not the case with me and once I have told them my reason they shut up!

Re: What was your reason to support Manchester United?

Great to hear from people from different parts of the country and the world supporting united. For me its simple, im from manchester and it was either city or united,i watched united loose the 76 fa cup final and watched city win the league cup in the same year, i was happy for city and rem cheering when they won but i was devastated when united lost to southampton, i was 10 years old, without thinking much about it i just automatically became a red i hated it when they lost.
