Re: Would you reward Owen with a start against Stoke

Doubt it. But then again, after yesterday's starting lineup anything is possible.

I don't think Danny Welbeck is fully 100% fit, even though he was out on for the Leeds match I believe that he needs more training, so its either Berbatov or Owen to start along with Rooney.. :/

Re: starting line up vs stoke city

Valencia has done amazingly at right back when asked to fill in. However i wouldnt place him there all the time, he is mainly a winger.

But again i am loving how versatile our squad is.

    Dunion:
Is nobody else super impressed with Valencia at right back each time he has been asked to fill in there?

He is a decent tackler and has great strength which makes a decent option to fill in there in an emergency but I certainly would not want to see him starting games there in the Premier League. His defensive positioning would be exposed a lot more as will his ability in the air.

Is nobody else super impressed with Valencia at right back each time he has been asked to fill in there? I certainly am. No nonsense, solid and looks like he has made a career of playing there. I don't think Rio or Smalling are fit for Stoke and Fabio has a habit of diving in and getting himself stupidly booked. So in a tight away game my team would be. De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Evans, Evra, Nani, Anderson, Fletcher, Young, Rooney, Owen.

whether hernandez is fit or not wouldn't be an issue as we see that owen is performing ahead of hernandez..we should give the on form player a chance rather than sticking to the usage of young player..

totally agreed to u ..he needs more time on the field ..not a kind of 10 or 15minutes..that was totally wastage..

I think it's a good time for him(Javier got injure) and I think he has momentum to go on. Owen this season look dangerous like the former Owen. So I think we should try him.

Start with Rooney and Berbatov. I don't think Welbeck is fully fit as yet, same with Hernandez.

Keep in mind that we have a Champions League tie in midweek, so that should dictate our selections for the match against Stoke. Id's say start Berba this weekend, then start Owen in the Champions League.

Wellbeck is also back, and will be Fergie's choice ahead of Owen ........ but I would like to see him come on, at some stage......
