Re: Breaking News - Fergie "Transfers unlikely"

We have to wait and see. He might try and get Spurs to lower the price for Berbatov. Spurs want to sell and might in the end get rid of him for the price we made. But if it dosent happen we will continue. So dont expect anything because if no one comes then you will be disappointed.

If fergie doesnt sign anyone then fine he has trust in the squad i would have liked to see a striker too but stop freaking out we've still got five strikers at the club when saha and manucho get fit. Plus fergie only said its unlikely he didnt say we wouldnt sign anyone. Remember this is the same sqad that won the double last year just have faith were still the strongest team in the pl plus nani and anderson will have omproved from last year and hopefully hargo stays fit and were actually even stronger now

Ah right mate, my bad then. Well mate you gotta have faith, the quotes from Sir Alex seem to show he is trying his hardest but communication is proving difficult(probably Daniel Levy being an idiot.) We have the same squad as last year, people are coming back from injuries.

I would love us to get Berbatov, but I certainly don't see it as a disaster if we don't.

If you throw ronaldo back into the team in a few weeks, we have exactly the same strike force that won us the double last season.

Do we need another striker, as its only gonna mean sacrificing tevez to the bench. We cant fit Rooney Tevez Ronaldo and another striker in the line up.

We have enough goals in the team, and maybe a young up and coming player, who wouldn't mind warming the bench for a couple of seasons would be a better idea.

I am more convinced that Frazier Cambell/Danny Welbeck could do that for us.

If we have too many big names sat around doing nothing we will be no better than chelski. They proved last season that if you have too many ego's it ruins morale the minute someone gets fed up with sitting on the bench.

Dublin mank(it's manC by the way), you are talking rubbish. Firstly we do not need a 30goals a season player "badly"  and this Berbatov deal does not automatically hand the Scouse and Rent Boys the silverware if it doesn't happen.

We have a seriously good squad when fully fit. More than capable of beating just about anyone.

I hope this deal happens, but unlike all you "fans" who think it's the end of the world, I do not think this deal shapes our season!

What a joke!! They have had at least the last 2 months to have this deal completed but now were going down to the last couple of days and Fergie still hasn't ruled it out completely, only saying that he is less optimistic! By the way he said that its hard to get communication with some people in life is telling me that he is having a go at somebody involved in the deal. I think he is very frustrated....there is no possible way this will happen now, Im full sure of that. The only thing we can hold onto is that he hasn't fully ruled it out yet which is a bit of good news but Im 90% certain that Dimitar Berbatov will still be a Spurs player this day week!

Then who's fault is it? we need a striker to lead the line and get 30 goals for us badly and if we don't Chelsea and the scouse filth will win the lot this season, he has had 3 months and if we cant get a top striker when were European champs something must be wrong.

Re: Breaking News - Fergie "Transfers unlikely"

Talking about Manucho, what the heck is the correct position regarding his blo**y permit? I had to go to Wikipedia to find out, and there is a report that the Sky reported on 22/08/08 that he got it. Is that correct? The guy is a bullet and playing with the likes of selfless Rooney, this guy can make Samuel Etoo look like a high school striker. In which case, my opinion, we would not need a moody striker like Berba for a criminal fee. Again, with a bit more confidence in Campbel, i see the reincarnation of Andy Cole in the boy.

Maybe SAF should try to squeeze performances out of these players until next transfer window. After all, strictly speaking, whats the pressure? Its highly unlikely to win back to back UEFA, and with the league, if he misses it now, he has one more year to go full throttle for it before he retires. Remember how he dismantled the team after 1999? At least this year he has largely retained his key players, give the guy some benefit of doubt. Isn't he the gaffer, after all?

    Ruud-ney:

I agree with some views here... could be SAF's mind games... any leakage of transfer news now may result in a bad consequences...

so, we have to wait and see... it won't be long at least...

any deals look dead in the water for me... this kind of talk is out of frustration and not mind games. we hope it isnt so, but we look like not recruiting this summer

SAF isn't to blame, why should he be held to ransom on a player who has publicly admitted he wants to be at utd.

I wonder if this is actually some of fergies mind games, trying to get berbatov's agent to try everything he can to get spurs to let him go
