Re: Top 3 Strikers In The World

I wouldnt pigeon hole Ronaldo and Messi as strikers, so my top 3 at this moment in time would be: 1) Rooney 2) Van Persie 3) Aguero

    Rooney and Messi = wingers
    So rooney is a winger.
I think he meant Ronaldo. And I think you know that.

On form right now: Van Persie, Cavani, Gomez Overall: Rooney, Villa, Gomez Though Messi and Ronaldo can be considered strikers especially Ronaldo who is a wide forward. However RVP, Cavani and Gomez are the most in form target men or pure strikers right now.

how can u guys honestly be putting rooney in this list. His form is rotten. When is the last time he has scored from open play? It's been a long time for him. Is he even a striker anymore? I could argue he is a Center Forward now, and even sometimes a central midfield. Based off current form, I don't even think he would be in my top 10. I support United, but I wont be bias and ignorant to the question. Gomez, Higuain, Benzema, and Van Persie are in MUCH better form then rooney. It's actually not even funny that you are including him in it.
...ummm... a centre forward is the same thing as a striker; perhaps you meant to say Central Attacking Midfielder? Also, the Thread is about the best strikers not the most in-form...
Ummm.... a centre forward is different to a striker, would you consider herdandez as a different kind of striker to rooney? Of course but at the end of the day rooney is a striker, he plays high up the pitch and scores goals. A centre attacking midfielder is a midfielder not a forward player. Why cant people understand the difference between these 2 positions. Anyway back on topic, im not going on current form so 1. Gomez 2. Drogba 3. Rooney. Also if people dont classify ronaldo as a striker how can you classify messi as one? Too much fifa and footy manager is my guess, thats probably where the whole centre attacking mid came from too. Just to be clear those are games and this is real life, please differetiate. That is all :).
Your earlier Post s the one that didn't make much sense in reply to the OP but if you really wanna get technical, you would even have different types of Strikers and different types of Centre Forwards... On a basic level the only difference between the two is the Free role up front but are both the 'Two' that refers to two Strikers up front in a 4-4-2. Rooney can be said to be a Centre Forward because of his free role and if you want to go further, an LCF (Left-Sided Centre Forward, but this only detracts from the point the OP was making... As an overall striker (include Centre Forwards) he definitely is one of the World's best.

I think if we are talking natural out and out strikers than rooney and suarez don't fit in this list. I know alot will disagree but thats my view. Rooney and Suarez are forwards like messi and Ronaldo, they can score alot of goals but offer something different to the team than that. For example if Rooney scored 10 goals this season he could still be uniteds best player, not much would be said about the low goal tally. While if Gomez scored 10 goals and he couldn't be Bayern's best player, because if he doesn't score much goals he isn't a good player. So, for me the best Strikers in the world are Van Persie, Gomez and huntelaar. These lads are goal machines and if they don't score goals they are not much good.

Including Messi and Ronaldo: Messi, Rooney and Ronaldo. Without: Rooney, Van Persie and Suarez.
    HaHaHa!
Because you chose a Liverpool player, and any player who plays for a rival team is obviously rubbish...
If Michael Carrick was Spanish he would be the best holding Midfield player in the world

Rvp,messi, gomez. Rooney is a great player but not an all and all striker. Ronaldo is a left wing too so he doesn't count.

Seriously as a team player Rooney is great but how could u put him best striker in the world? Apart from 2009/2010 his goal scoring record is not that good.. When you put he spend half of the last season in *** form and now he is not in form again ?!? As strikers only Van Persie/// Ibrahimovic //// Etoo Honorable mention to Higuain/Gomez
