Dear God. Whatever on earth our solution is, it does NOT involve Michael bloody Carrick.
Michael Carrick has been our most improved player this year. I was one of his biggest critic's but he has won me round. His scored a great goal against QPR and has rarely put a foot wrong all season. Given time I can see him forming a good partnership with Phil Jones in midfield as well.

Re: Modric, Park, Carrick = Midfield Problem Solved

    RedVariant:
So all we need to do now, is to pay over the odds for a player which would demand a regular spot in the lineup and in doing so, inhibit the growth and development of cleverley, morrison and pogba. Not to mention, we might not even win the title and if we do, we might not have needed him. And the deal would probably involve doubling or tripling his wages and destroy the entire wage structure we have in place here. But hey, Midfield Problem Solved!!!!!!
We may have to pay over the odds but Modric would be an excellent long term (5-6 years) acquisition. As good a servant as he has been, Ryan Giggs can't go on forever and someone will be needed to fill his CM role. Morrison and Pogba are not getting into the team as it is, therefore it tells me Fergie doesn't trust them enough to put them into the first squad right away. I believe they will go out on loan next season, and it could be 2014 before they become first team regulars, eventually taking the places of Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher. People also forget that in a good season we could play around 60 matches. All our midfielders have the potential to get plenty of matches.

Modric wants to stay at London. He won't move to Manchester, never, nor to any other city. He has already said that he wants to stay in London, so it's Spurs, Chelsea, or Arsenal for him. Rule out any other football club.

    Re: Beauty and the Beast!

Park's been our worst player this season by some distance. You could just about overlook his lack of quality on the ball when he was scoring the odd important goal and running other players into the ground, but now he can't even keep up with play. When he's on the pitch it's been like playing with 10 men, or possibly playing against 12 men because so often our attacks break down due when he gets on the ball. It's a testament to how desperate our midfield situation is that someone as bad as Park has been played there as often as he has this season.

Modric, Cleverley and Tiote, now that would be a world class midfield.

If beauty is supposed to equal good play, not sure we had an awful lot of that of late. The midfield of Park, Giggs, and Carrick on Wednesday was pretty shocking so that could be the beast I guess. To be honest, like a lot of them at the moment, Park doesn't seem to have much of a clue, certainly no guile and his passing is awful, just seems to be no confidence or coherent tactical plan at all.
I personally think Park Ji Sung is one of the most under-rated footballer's in the league. The match the other night was funny, the score really could've ended up being anything, from 6-0 to Newcastle (If Ferdinand had got sent off for his foul early in the match) to 3-2 (If Welbeck and Berbatov had took their chances when the match was 2-0). He's like a wee Jack Russell, always snapping at players heels and hassling them and his engine is fantastic. I think if you combined his work rate with Carricks vision and defensive awareness and Modric's forward thinking play-making we would see a dramatic improvement.
Couldnt disagree more, I honestly would put Park in a Premiership worst 11. This isn't a new think either (lots of people are saying he's playing badly at the moment) he just looks the old useless can't control a ball, ends up on his ars 9 times out a 10 Park he's always been.

Agreed as we sorely missed him on the 6-1 thrashing. Needs to play against the high octane offense team like City.

Park certainly will never add guile to any team, he spends more time falling over than he does doing anything else.

If Ferguson could get Modric for £10m then i'm sure he'd be interested.

Doubt that we'll ever get to know if that midfield trio would work. I like Park but he's been pretty ineffective this season overall.

Good squad player, not frst choice though, for me at any rate.
