Re: Official Match Tracker thread - Norwich v United

    The Eternal Giggs:

I can’t believe how many “so-called true Man Utd fans” are happy with this Man Utd team who is fighting not to lose points against mediocre teams. It is just a matter of time before this becomes a reality ……
Seems like you don't have a very good memory. If you did, you would recall the 2007-2008 season in which United had 13 matches that had a 1-0 or 1-1 scoreline, barely being able to knock in the goals against much weaker opposition. This was also a team build around Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez probably the best set of attacking players in the league at the time. Of course they werent conceding that many either, but they also barely won the title. The so called "mediocre team" of Norwich City have only lost 3 times at home all season in the league, pretty impressive actually for a side that just came up. They are finer than you give them credit for. I think before you go around calling people "so-called true Man Utd fans" you should take a check in the mirror first...
Yeah, I recall 2007-2008 season and a lot more seasons and this is the reason I did above post. The big difference from now and before is –before we played really nice football and Man Utd dominated most of the games and lack of scoring a lot of goals wasn’t problem. This season Man Utd team fight most of the games not to lose the points and about quality of the game ……just read fans on the ‘official match trackers’. I don’t have a problem with the scoring a lot of goals, but the game. About Norwich City-it is not so difficult to keep good domestic record in EPL in decline. EPL where Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal are the shadows from the past strong teams….One slightly improved City (they even can’t qualify for out of the group stage in CL) is on top of the EPL table …..Just because lack of competition…..So, the real reason why teams like Norwich and Swansea looks good on the paper is not in their strength and in real football they are mediocre teams. By the way I like Swansea…..

The late late show once again. I hope the youngsters learn how to do this from the masters Giggs and Scholes.
They would actually do better to learn NOT TO LEAVE IT LATE!!!!!!!!!!
While it's not so good for my heart, games like this and the Chelsea match are the stuff Championships are made of. I do like the 5-0 wins better too though :)

typical response from people who think Berba is god......Bad mouth other players and praise berba!
    At my signal unleash Rafael

Man city are just better than us, let's accept it, our only way is scrapping wins like this, we can't slaughter teams like they do consistently, let alone slaughter them like they did us. Power is shifting unless we do something. And no I'm not going to support city or any other team you suggest, I'm United all through and I'm staying, but still worried for us.
HAVE WE OR HAVE WE NOT GAINED 3 POINTS?...IN MY BOOK: JOB DONE. A thrifty and economical performance. We do not have to be flash like CITY are and score goals galore. Leave that to City. As long as we gain the 3 points, That's what really matters overall. We'll score more goals when we have to.
You say that like there's not such a thing as......what do they call it.....ah....goal difference/differential!!! It is always advisable to be scoring as much as possible when so close in points to the leaders. Goals can make the difference!!! You make it seem like goal scoring is a mercenary activity, not a standard part of football.

Seriously SCREW ALL OF YOU, i saw all these comments slating the team and i wanted to reply but i thought no ill just keep watching why dont you SUPPORT THE BLOODY TEAM.
    Agreed with you completely

A lot of fans on here are just a disgrace... Obviously they have just been so spoilt by choosing to support United that when something goes wrong they act like petulant children.

Performance wasnt great, but hey we have the best away form in the league this season and we are still winning games... at the end of the day its the points which matter

I love all these mental midgets who thing SUPPORT means not asking questions, getting frustrated, or saying someone is putting in a *** performance. And that SUPPORT means coming on here with the obligatory "how dare you criticize" and "you plastics" and all that predictable stuff. Why have an account on the forum if it's just to say "well done lads" and "support the team you plastics"? Why not join the military.....your blind obedience will be well appreciated there.
It's not that you can't criticize the team, most of the time, its the way of criticizing that some of the lads here find it disrespectful
i don't think any of the criticism has been out of order, it was all " why the h*ll have we stoped playing when went 1:0 up??? which is true and fair!!!
well i was talking about in general..but yeah, guess we both get the point.
My first point was that when we were 1-0 up we all seem to be fairly happy and more comments were made about the Arsneal game even, then when we let one in its omg SAF i told you to bring on Berba or somthing like that, i agree we sat back but my point is that the game is still playing, we had the chance to win still and we did just hate that loads suddenly were slating Welbeck for missing some chances when atleast he was making efforts anyway bla bla bla, i don't mind criticism but atleast support us whilst we are actually playing??

    Re: still hope?

Why is it that open criticism is not acceptable to some of this forum? I have been a fan since 1980 and we always have this dispute on the loyalty of fans. We have to realize that there are those who are glory seekers, yes, but also those who have stuck with this team through thick and thin and still give constructive criticism when needed. We cannot afford to lose concentration and even the team players themselves will admit to this but nobody will dare say they are less loyal to the team then would they? Over the years Fergie himself has lamented how games should have been won and lack of goals have cost us points down the line and no true united fan wants to compare us to city, but we played the kind of flowing attacking football before city players could even walk a straight line. So we as fans are glad the team pull out wins, but at the same time we are being rescued by the players who embody the united style of play and the rest of the team need to follow suit. All it takes is one player to step up and change the pace of the game and at the same time it takes one or two players to step down and drag the pace of the game. Fergie should have brought on Berba but at the end of the day, we pulled it through...just.

Looks like you have lost all United values. How good have we been over the past seasons and yet we are at the very top every season. Chelsea led for 4 some seasons ago when we relied on own goals we still nicked it. City's hard times will begin and we will be there. JUST BELIEVE!!...only glory hunters talk like that. remember arsenal led for 15 pts at some stage in a season we still won
After Arsenal's 'Invincibles' year they led United by 9 points in March and we still came back to beat them to the title by 1 point. BELIEVE BELIEVE BELIEVE in UNITED...ALWAYS! It isn't over until the maths says so!!

There's always hope but the young guys are getting ridiculous salaries so they don't care and seem to listen more to their agents than their coaches. What we need are young players that want to wear the shirt proudly. If they do that the money will come to them.
    vks:
well said; The old ones have showed the young how to do it; one chance to each of them and they scored, while Welbeck and Hernandez still keep trying!!! They have got a lot to learn.
We're missing Valencia and Rooney. No question about it and yes the more experienced players can now go in to the changing rooms and express how they dug deep with minutes/seconds to go in injury time and pulled out the win and THAT's THE UNITED WAY!!! Attack to the final whistle. Always believe.
