Yep, thats one area that people dont seem to pick up on. I have noticed there is a little competition between rio and evans and so far evans is winning. His pass which eventulally led to the goal against chelsea was brilliant!

Not at all he deserves all the praise he's getting at the mo especially when there was a certain select few on here who were constantly claiming we should sell him as recently as earlier in the season. Most of us with half a brain had faith that this kid would come good. Last year was really hard for him and he was really struggling and openly admits that. Now he has shown real character to fight back and prove all the doubters wrong. Well done lad you've done yourself and us proud.

You're not the only one. He's always had the talent. All he needed was confidence, and now that he's showing it, he's showing what a classy defender he is.

His composure on the ball and the passes he makes just highlights the confidence he has. He even has a couple of assists this season due to his playing style. One thing I find interesting is that our defenders are often involved when we are on the attack. Either it is to build up the attack along with the central midfielders or to act as another deep-lying playmaker (Rio, Evans), looking for the next available pass.

No doubting what Rio has done in the past but he's been pretty terrible this season bar a couple of games.

No I've always had faith in Evan's.. And this is is best season so far.. Vs Liverpool he was my MOTM....

nice too see him getting the credit he deserves, their is way to much lazy journalism around criticizing players because they have had poor performances in the past, even if they playing well at the moment

Hes a classy class defender. His inclusion brings a calmness and easiness to everything-like Carrick. Probably Uniteds best defender this season too.

I was really surprised to read the "Evans hits back at critics" article on sky. I think he has been doing that with his performances and people who think that he is a liability don't know much about football.

No definitely you are not. He has also been nominated for our player of the month for February.. I think he has been very good specially after that city 1-6 disaster. But the thing with him is that if he makes one mistake people jump on him like dogs on meat.

Evans the last few months has been one of our most consistent players,i think the problem with him is if he his out for any length of time it takes him a while to get his confidence back,if he doesn't play with confidence he makes stupid mistakes.Lately he's had a constant run of games and he keeps getting better and better.Remember 3 seasons ago him and Vidic went 10 games without conceding, a club record. I personally think him and Vidic (when he's back) should be our number one partnership.

NO !!!!! you are not alone in our team at this moment and time the only player near to Vidic is Evans followed by Smalling. Evans's performance is always affected by the inconsistence performance of Rio. Any defender if playing along side Rio will have problems. If it's the question of Evans receiving a red card against City even Vidic has recived more than once red card when playing along side Rio. If Evans scored own goal at the Bridge even Rio did the same on the same day. Evans is a strong morden day defender who is ever willing to move forward to assist in raising the tempo of the game.
