    Re: Fernando Llorente?

He's good, ill give you that. But how many strikers do we already possess? He'd either be an occasional bench warmer or he'd push someone out the team like Welbeck. He's not worth it, it's kind of like that old saying hard to fill a cup that's already full. We're not City, we don't sign someone so that no one else can have him.

Last night all eyes I think were on Martinez but I must admit I thought Llorente was superb last night. Not only is he big and strong but he is skilful and has got some pace too. If Berba goes in the summer I think he is a definite option.
Also I think Ander Herrera's performance has been overlooked, he ran the show from start to finish.

    Carlos del Olmo:
    Munain (who is only 21)
    Muniain is 19.
    Carlos del Olmo:
    Martinez (Atletico de Bilbao)
Martinez isn't a CB he is only playing there because of injuries.
That's what happens when they watch them play for the first time. Think they know all about the players. Tut tut
Some people think football is a matter of life and death I assure you it's much more serious than that

    Re: Fernando Llorente?

Sorry to disagree. In fact we need three players (at least). One: A forward as Owen is past his shelf life. Bervatov would take his place but we would be one forward short. Agree with your choice of Munain (who is only 21). He uses both legs and made me think of a more aggressive Scholes style like player. His price cannot be the same as LLorente who is already an established player. So he could still be affordable given our recent signings' price (20-25 mill). Our proven options now are Chicharito, Wellbeck and Rooney...that is a bit short would you not agree? Two: We need a creative midfielder (Modric or Goetze) as Scholes and Giggs will need more rest in between matches and eventually retire. Finally, our center back issues are still there. Evans is not our man. He is an excellent lad and puts lot of effort but he's a midtable team...se we should sell him. Martinez (Atletico de Bilbao) is an excellent player...but for some reason SAF did not get him...he's only 24... so he could jump in right now...or maybe thye man is the brazilian Dede. On any case iIf ManUtd want to challange the big boys again we need somebody to join Vidic when he gets back...let's see if Smalling develops into the player we need to develop to sub Vidic when he retires.

I think Fernando Llorente would be a great option for us, but only if Dimitar Berbatov leaves (which I don't want him to).

    No thanks

    We have enough strikers

Money is better spent elsewhere ie on the midfield... If we are to get a forward then i would prefer Munian... He would no doubt have a similar pricetag to Llorente and well being 7 years younger then him, its a better move and Munian is the better player

I agree man.If we were to sign another forward either Muniain or Rodriguez would be great.Whoever i think we should go all out and sign either Modric or Martinez in the summer.

Heir while team is better than utd. It would be a good deal to swap berba for llorente plus 10 million.
Good idea, now only thing we need to do is get Berba a false Basque birth certificate and we're good to go!
Amazing really that Athletc Club are only 1 of 3 teams never to have been relegated (along with Real and Barca), dispite their policy of having players from the Basque region only.

You have to give them massive credit, i must imagine their fans are very proud of their club, come what may.

Got lots of respect to Bilbao, sticking to their traditions in such manner is never easy with modern footy. And to be able to achieve what they did with their policey is amazing. Most clubs won't be able to field 5 players as good as Llorente, Muniain, Herrera, Martinez and Susaeta, let alone a club with so little transfer options. My outmost respect.

    Re: Fernando Llorente?

Llorente, Munian and Martinez are modern footballers who wouldn't fancy anything old school like our 4-4-2 formation and system. Players like this rely on movement on and off the ball, skills on the ball and interplay.

If we want to play better, AF should change the philosophy of his staff. We need the players in the mold of Nani, Anderson, Cleverly, Young, Rooney, Welbs, Rafael, Fabio........... players who are comfortable on the ball.

We need to stop playing PROBABILITY FOOTBALL!! - Crossing and hoping for the best!!!

If I could, I'd put 80m on Bilbao's table and sign Martinez, Muniain and Llorente.
Do we really need Llorente and Muniain i dont think we do.I was very impressed with all 3 players last night they were all brilliant but i would sign Martinez. He would be ideal for us.My dream signing would be Modric but if not him then Martinez would be great.
If there's anything last game showed, it's: 1. We need more capable center mids. 2. Chicha's lack of abilities on the ball is hurting us, and apart from Rooney and Welbeck our options upfront are quite limited. 3. Rafael and Evra are too prone to mistakes. 4. Park on the wings leave with no width, so we only really have Young, Valencia and Nani. So yes.
Ive liked Llorente for a while now, a "proper" centre forward. Someone in the RVN mould. Pace, power, good touch, goals, head, pass, great at holding the ball up. I do miss us having that type of striker. Rooney, Welbeck, Chicha and Llorente as 4 options up top would be great. All very different.

Muniain is a very clever player, isnt he? Got that finesse, sharp mind and great ability. Not sure how he'd fit into our squad though. Wouldnt fancy him in a United 4-4-2, think you would take too much out of his game by asking him to do too much defensive work.

Martinez seems very composed, great at keeping possession, similar to carrick but with a bit more aggression, though havent really seen his range of passing consistantly. Would be a great addition to the midfield though.

Muniain has been my favourite player outside United for a while now. He's not a CM, more like Gaitan, a playmaker that drifts in from a wider position, so he'd do good for us. Unfortunately he seems Madrid bound.
