I watch Everton week in week out because my partner is an Evertonian!!!!!! and watching paint dry? I take it that your paint must be a very different one altogether.

hes overated and old fashioned, typically because he can scores goals every one seems to be kidded into thinking hes something special, hes slow cant beat his man and SAF wouldnt buy him because we have better players to play in the left back position, jones, fabio, evra, evans can play there if needed aswell asy the young lad fryers coming through the ranks......waste of money if you ask me
How anyone can say Baines is slow beggers understanding. The lad covers more ground than anybody in the pitch and is quite fast with or without the ball. I must say that the both of us are talking about a different Baines altogether. Check his statistics and his pace. His crosses are a million times better than Evras!! and Chica could do wonders with such cross!!

I really rate him as best left back in england! Yet people say Ashley Cole is still the best left back in the world...pfft dont make me laugh. He has the ability to play for a big club, whether its us I dont know but it is very unlikely. Evra needs replacing though.
People who say Ashley Cole is still the best left back in the world are in cloud cuckoo land. For me he's living off his name and has been for a while, he's been no better than Evra tbh and United have long since had the best out of Evra imo. Cole's performances for Chelsea and England have been mediocre and if Leighton Baines was at any of the top 4 clubs then he would be a regular now in the England set-up.

I think Baines is now at a decent level but more importantly he has a consistency to his game. He carries a threat at set pieces which United could do with and he has lots of experience to boot. With regards him being an option for United then i cant see it myself. He's got the ability but not only would Everton want a kings ransom for him but at 27 years of age you would have to ask yourself would he fit in with our current transfer policy? I'm not so sure.

I just think he'd cost an awful lot of money for a player with just 6 international caps and Everton, as they did with Lescott, would command a huge fee. V Good player though.

IMO 27 isnt such a bad age for him to come to united. I believe Fryers would replace Evra but has he got the consistency and experience you would get from a player like Baines. Baines is a very talented leftback and if he can be bought with 15mill, I would say go for him!!!! Our current transfer policy wont do us any good if we have only potential young talents with no experienced players to put them through ( a certain Arsenal FC comes to mind). at 27, baines with his stature can play for 7 more years for UNITED me think
Strole on lads, now he's worth 15 million and can play for us for seven years! Where are my Patricks, the come back is on, he can have me on a free and i'll give him a good 20 minutes. Somebody write a Baines song, how can we not sign him!

I have watched Baines almost every week and I must say he is one of the best left back in England now. He is the entire package and a United type of player. He plays with a good hard working spirit, defends immensely well, can put in some fantastic cross in the box and most amazingly has a lovely left feet. His free kicks are also quite astonishing. He covers the most amount of ground compared to every other player week in week out!!! I think SAF knows all about this guy but for some reason would not buy him because we have Evra and Fabio. I would love to know what you think of this talented man called LEIGHTON BAINES!!
I would like to know how can you stick watching everton every week, is your other hobby watching paint dry? Or are you Mr Baines senior looking to get your boy a dream move? I think you'll find fergie didnt buy him for a reason, we need more than two freekicks a year from our full backs

I rate him very highly & he is indeed the best left back in England & he is a Man Utd type & his price tag is also very less but the only obstacle will be his age. We should've signed him earlier.
what is love? Manchester United is love

i rate him. i really do. he gets up and down the wing well, overlapping the winger. good ball in most of the time. good freekick ***.

i don't think we will see him at united. he's 27 now. plus Fergie seems to be buying for the future. although Young was a little bit of an anomaly.
