    Re: again Javier Hernandez...

What we need to note here is Chicharito played alone up front and also he played without the services of Rooney who generally gets behind the striker and creates the chances. Also we had very less of the ball once Rooney was subbed. Chicharito has always done well when started, especially away from home. Another important thing is that we/SAF seem to improve Chicharito as a player this season. Last season he was an out and out striker getting on the shoulder of the defenders. However this season, his over all play seem to be upgraded, if you like so. He gets down the wings, he goes back in the middle and try to win the ball, trying put in crosses and trying to improve the game rather than standing up front waiting for a chance. I'm personally happy to take this upgrade for Chicharito as long as he retains his finishing skills :)

First of all i want to say that goals are everything in football, the team with the most goals will ultimately win the match..so if that is Chica's strong suit, well, then great! However i can't beleive anyone would really come on here and defend Chica's ball control as world class, seriously! I'm really fond of the lad and i love his predatory instincts and his movement off the ball but i can't see how his control is any better than Andy carrol's..thats my honest opinion!

Chicharoti is not a bad player but he just needs to learn one basic thing. Ball control.

That is very true, I mean the fact that Hernandez is similar to Pipo Inzaghi. He really is that type of player, he can't do anything but score. On his day he is ruthless and can hit out of nowhere and usually he is just that nowhere to be seen (unless talking about offsides). I think Hernandez is taking Inzaghis place as born offside player. Not saying that type of player can't be effective but in general Inzaghi was one of the strikers that i personally hated the most even if I actually liked AC Milan. Hernandez wont be versatile player ever and i quess his passing won't be even fairly good even with age but no doubt he will score a bunch of goals. Other thing is if any true top class team can afford to use so one dimensional player anymore when the game itself is going towards the way that Barcelona uses that they don't actually have out and out striker anymore. Everybody should be able to be more or less playmaker and create chances same as finish them off. Hernandez simply put is old fashioned striker that isn't that versatile as a top class player should be. Effectively used and prob as super sub he has his uses but can't see him being a starter regularly. Welbeck and Hernandez are youngsters still and it will take time for them to get really on the top IF they really make it.
who gives a *** how they play at barca. here at united we play with wingers and out and out strikers. and guess what, it works.
here here id rather see fast paced wing attacks than 4000 1 yard passes anyway....although im hatching a plan to kidnapp and brain wash messi so he sighns for man united

my name wont tell u anything, but somewhere u are right, i just cant understand why to play him (Hernandez is for scoring goals not keeping the ball) instead of keeping Rooney or playing Berbatov ,

He scored 2 goals and then was dropped thats harsh if you ask me. how is he to find any form if he is constantly benched. he links up better with rooney than welbeck. welbeck should be dropped

coming in as sub he was useless , i could play better than him that 10mins, not talking about any striker we have in the reserve team. We had the chance to score 4-5 goals and to equal mancity , but alsoo we were so lucky to escape with a win , it could be 1-1 . but the referee repaired his first half mistake not giving us penalty.Hernandez will never be at the same level with Berbatov or Ruud Van Nistelroy, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Owen.... IS ANYBODY THINKING THE SAME ???

Well yes it's true Chicharito isn't in the same class as Ruud and Ole. People jump on the bandwagon of he's young he's improving etc when in reality we see what kind of player you become at this age and then its during the ages of 26-30+ that we see perfection in what they do best. With Ole and Ruud, their technique came natural to them if you watch videos of when they were 20-24 you will see they are just a less experienced version of them in their prime state.

Chicharito is more of a Pipo Inzaghi, trust me, if you've seen Pipo play back in the day you'll understand that comparison. This isn't slating it's just stating opinion based on observation, of course I still support our Mexican marksman.
I don't whether you're trying to agree with the OP or not.. Yes Chicha is no RVN or Ole, and you're right, he's exactly like Inzaghi.. but is that a bad thing? Inzaghi scored loads of important goals for Milan.. Chicha is proving the same for us. The frustrating thing about this thread is that it's almost as though because Chicha was labelled as a 'super-sub', people expect him to score EVERY time he comes off the bench.. Use your brains a little people.. every game is different. Fulham sat back for the entire match and tried to pressure us when we were tired, it was obviously their game plan.. You're complaining about 10 minutes from Hernandez when the guy is close to equalling Ole's record from the bench having only been here a season and a half.. use your brains people.. Sigh..
    That's a good thing.

Pipo is without a doubt one of the greatest poachers that ever played the game. Granted, his play was solely based on lurking inside the penalty area, but his finishing and awareness was top notch, hence why he scored so many goals. I think Chicharito is quite similar, and he should focus a lot more on being the player we saw last season. So far this campaign he hasn't been poor by any measure, but he's spending a lot more time outside the box than he did last season, which isn't ideal when you consider the fact that his passing and his first touch isn't great.

Hernandez is a good striker but needs to improve ball control and onball control.

chica had a little lapse during the match where he stumbled over the ball, then kicked a soft pass to valencia that was intercepted, then was call offside, all in a span of 3 minutes or so. i'm sure no one felt worse than him when that happened. you could see it when the match was over when he was walking towards the locker room, he looked like he was disgusted with himself. he probably reads this website and feels worse about it.
