I don't think it was a penalty against Fulham. I think Carrick toed the ball and Johnny Evans cleared it.

Re: How did you feel when Murphy fell?

My initial thought was why did w make so many substitutions and risk only a1 goal lead. I understand and agree with Rio being dubbed unfortunately whenever we put Smalling our Jones at CB it gives our opposition belief they can score. Also even though Welbeck hadn't found the back of the net he understands with 20 minutes or less left the main concern is not to concede a goal so he stays further back to defend. I was at work and stuck with only soccernets commentary and they said it was a penalty but not given so it want as bad as if id actually seen the build up and foul because then I'd been coming unglued.

The whole pub went silent knowing it was a penalty then cheered when play went on. Both sides had claims for a penalty as neither were given.

It might be the one of the talking points that won us the league.

I thought, why do we have defenders that just ball watch instead of shutting players down before they even get a chance to get into the box or anywhere near the box,and why do we lack a CDM who can break up play.

I thought at first it was a good tackle.

Then for that second while waiting to see if a pen was going to be given, i looked at how long was left on the clock (about 6 minutes) and wondered if there was enough time to score again.

Then, when watching the replay i was convinced i'd see Carrick get a boot to it and knock it to one side. He didnt!

I felt like we've lost the title when Murphy fell. That sudden shock was more intense than watching CR7 miss the penalty during the 08 final. But now that We have won the crucial 3 points, we must win the title at all cost =D

Like all time went on a rampage because i really believed that was NOT a penalty and murphy went down to easy.

Re: How did you feel when Murphy fell?

It was a PENALTY??? but only after it was looked at twice? it is easy to call it today or even after murphy went down pretty easy?..to call it straight after the replay? the referee saw the ball go sideways. like i did, but only on the replay you saw Carrick kick his foot on to the ball for it to go sideways. For me at first sight it wasn`t a penalty... Unlike the Rio challenge on Benarfa against Newcastle when he took the ball clean and it also changed direction.....result a penalty against UTD which wasn`t 2pts dropped.. last night 2pts gained thats how I look at it..don`t really care what anyone else thinks..........T.V pundits Radio presenters with short memories????

A little girly scream came out of me and then I just felt a massive amount of relief when I realised it hadn't been given.

    mark.k.:
Evans clearing the ball was vital. If the United players froze with guilt then the ref would have had no choice. Murphy was just chancing his arm as always. He's like Gerrard, comes alive once a year to face United. Why doesn't he do It every week like a proper player?
Very True. Torres, Riise, included. dunno why all them looserpool players think they still playing for them when the face us!!!! Wish they played like dat against Citeh to.
