We don't really NEED to sign anybody, maybe we could sign one or two to get a more balanced squad, but the main thing is to just get youngsters signed up. Some of our players in the academy and reserves have huge potential.
We just need to get Giggs to retire, absolute legend, but he's a liability, and every time he plays, we play awful. He doesn't keep in position, he doesn't track back, he fails with 5 yard passes, he always tries fancy passes 99% of which fail, Rooney always ends up in CM, which stops any of our attacking threat. Giggs isn't doing himself or his career any favours, and he certainly isn't doing Utd any favours. I just wish he realised his time is up now, Sir Alex doesn't seem to like dropping his old players, look at Neville, he was still being played then he realised he had got to being a liability to Utd, and retired for the sake of himself and Utd. I just wish Giggs would do the same.
He's got nothing more to prove or gain, he's quite possibly the biggest legend of all time at United.
Then if he does retire, our younger players can play more and more, get more experience, improve their talent and improve their decision making at the highest level. We could have a 3 man midfield of Jones (at DM) Pogba and Cleverley in a few years time, which could be deadly! Not forgetting Petrucci (if he can stay injury free) and Tunnicliffe (who i think can become a class player, but will be a 'late bloomer').
If we were to sign anybody i would say sign a 'ball winner'. But not the Carrick type (intercepting but not much tackling). I'd rather we got a player like Tiote or similar. Somebody who shows determination, courage, power, drive etc.
I don't think we need any wingers or strikers or any defenders. Only thing i can see to improve is the CDM spot. I'm not hating on Carrick, but we don't have a true ball winner in the squad. Spurs have Parker, City have De Mong, Newcastle have Tiote, Arsenal did have Frimpong (i'm not sure if i'd class Song as a ball winner). Eventually Tunnicliffe will fill that role, but i don't think he'll be near good enough quality until 22/23.
