Re: Scholes has to be our player of the season.

I personally think Rooney will get it. 31 goals (and hopefully more) is no mean feat and he has been as good as ever this season. Close behind Rooney will be Carrick and Valencia.

Valencia is totally reliable. Carrick and Evans most improved players. Rooney is our world class player and Scholes is the reason Utd will win the league. Player of the season by a country mile.

Scholes for me with Valencia close second. The nature of Scholes' return must surely force United (finally) to buy a top class playmaker. I know there are injuries but blimey our midfeld looks poor without Scholes there. I personally think we need two class midfield replacements to be able to once more compete on all fronts.

Gotta be Rooney in my eyes. Only player who's been consistent all season. Scholes has only been here since January, we shouldn't forget first 5 months. Valencia has been in and out of the team, due to injuries. Carrick didn't start playing great until around November.

Evans is the only guy who can rival Rooney for player of the year imo.

How has Wazza been consistent?, hes had patches of great form and certain blips near Christmas. Evans started blossoming once he returned from injury which is in January, i vividly remember people calling for his neck during his first 10 games where we saw him sent off against City.

Re: Scholes has to be our player of the season.

    Red:
For me it has to be De Gea or Valencia!
Both been really good this season especially De Gea but who do we obviously miss more in a match De Gea, Valencia or Scholes. When Scholes hasn't been playing or is substituted the team as a whole play less effectively. Evidence in this are the Liverpool F.A. cup match, the Chelsea 3-3 draw, both Bilbao matches, and the recent Wigan game.
    Red:
De Gea has not put a foot wrong since Lindergaard got injured, and has made pivotal saves, game winning save!
I was a big supporter of De Gea coming to Utd after seeing him over a couple of season at Athletico. Even when people were crying out for Neurer I knew De Gea was a better keeper. He had to adapt to the English game and that took a bit and thats to be expected. I have no doubt he is going to get better and if he stays here long term I could see him surpassing the great Dane. But he did have a blip during the season and was in and out of the team for a short period. When Scholes came back he totally organised the midfield mess; which at one stage has Rooney playing in it. Utd went on a winning streak with him back in the team and only dropped point/ lost matches when he wasn't playing. His contribution to the team has allowed utd to claw back City lead and allowed Utd to surpass them. In effect Scholes has made it possible for Utd to win the league. Its because of this that Scholes has to be considered our player of the season.
    Red:
Its been more of a team game this season, rather than individual brilliance
This is why I think Scholes is over looked. He is a brilliant individual player and uses his great ability to get other players/ the team playing. It's no coincidence that when Scholes isn't playing the team as a whole don't play as good. That is Scholes individual brilliance. Allowing the team to keep the ball and maintain control of the game.
    Red:
which may have been our shortfall in Europe in a way!
It's no coincidence that we suffered in Europe i.e. the Champions league and Europa league because Scholes didn't play in either and the team didn't play well. Yet all the other candidates played in some or all of those European matches and struggled. Again to clarify. This player of the season, not most IMPROVED player of the season. That would be either Carrick or Evans. If we do win the league it comes down to Paul Scholes and that is why he should be our player of the season.

I was torn between Valencia and Evans, then I remembered the city game so Valencia got the vote but Evans a close second followed by Scholesy. Would be happy if any of them wins it.

Scholes has to be our player of the season.

    Stanley Jones:
The award is player of the SEASON.
    Stanley Jones:
I believe that the award is between Evans, Carrick and Rooney
Evans only started breaking into the first team after Vidic got injured and Carrick only made the 1st team at the end of November so they themselves haven't played a full season and by your logic rules them out. Rooney I would consider because the role he played in the team especially when he was played in midfield. But the reason Scholes should get the award because Utd wouldn't have been in the running for the league without Scholes introduction to the team. By my logic that makes him our player of the season.

Re: Scholes has to be our player of the season.

    The Phenom:
He is the Player of the half season. Post December player of the season. Post Christmas player of the season. In no way he is the player of the season. Player of the season is only one man and he goes by the name Jonny Evans.
makes absolutely no sense.jonny evans only started playing well after vidic got injured in december, a few weeks before scholes came back.so you are completely contradicting yourself.
