    Re: Why is Welbeck playing?

    arshii:
I absolutely, for a fact, know that this kid is not good enough. He is an out and out striker and he hardly ever scores and he can't play fast paced football. Hernandez is much better than the kid and I strongly believe if he wasn't an academy product he wouldn't be here. Already in the first half an hour of this Villa match he has missed a handful of chances which Hernandez wouldn't of. I've always criticized the kid and this year he just hasn't been up to par. He is as slow as Berbatov, doesn't have the technical ability of Berbatov and doesn't have the same eye for goal. So tell me, what has he done to make everyone believe in him so much? Being young is no excuse and the last time i checked, at 21 years of age you are supposed to show at least a bit of potential.
You don't understand football. I feel sorry for you.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death I assure you it's much more serious than that

One of his many goals this season right? O wait that was his 8th.
    You are an idiot

You do know that he has scored the same amount of league goals as Luis Suarez, a player who cost around £25 million and before he moved to Liverpool was banging in 40+ goals a season in the dutch league.

Oh and to back up with stats, when Van Persie was 21 which was back in the 04/05 season he ONLY scored 5 goals in the PL and 10 all season, Welbeck has 8 goals in the PL and iirc 11 goals this season

I will fight until i die

    Re: Why is Welbeck playing?

I'll call you an idiot if you're behaving like one. The team is top of the league. Already scored more goals than last year when we won the league. Only scored 3 less than City who have plenty world class strikers. Welbeck playing isn't having a negative effect on the team, why does it matter who scores the goals. No pleasing some people. Be happy with what we've got. I'm sure Arsenal fans are delighted to have the top goal scorer in the league, obviously more important.

Wellbeck is playing because Sir Alex, who has forgotten more about football than you will ever know, thinks he is the best choice. And I think a 4-0 win with Wellbeck getting the important second goal would suggest he is right and you ARE an idiot.

Idiot. His all round play has been brilliant. The team is top of the league with Welbeck playing the majority of games. Even Rooney said in the past week that his player of the year for United is Welbeck. If our best striker rates him this highly and enjoys playing with him then thats enough for me. Some people expect too much. No doubt with more experience his finishing will improve and he'll be a top player. Give the lad a chance.
Who the *** are you to call me an idiot? That was probably to boost his confidence because it is obviously Valencia. I expect too much? to score 10 goals this season is expecting too much?

Welbeck still needs a lot of work. Great to see him FINALLY finish today though.

You still haven't told me anything that can be backed up by statistics as to why Welbeck is playing.

How do you go ahead and assume because he doesn't cost £40M i wouldn't like him? What about Scholes, Cleverley, Giggs etc.? Let's base things of merit and statistics rather than make wild accusations and assumptions on baseless facts. Welbeck has done nothing to merit a place in the starting 11.

Of course you don't watch him. Stats aren't everything. The lad has terrific pace and work rate and some of the passes he strings together are brilliant. Hernandez doesn't have anything like the work rate that Welbeck has, Hernandez stays up top and needs to receive to score. Whereas you'll find Welbeck all over the park and he puts passes together that creates attacks. Berbatov, he's better than them both but he lacks pace. And didn't Welbeck score today? He's a 'late boomer' he may be 21 but he's still developing and he's still got so much more to give. By the age of 25, if he continues to give everything and develop like he is now than no doubt he'd be the best in 4 years.
Are you serious? The best by 25? What has he shown you to justify that and to belittle Hernandez's work rate is pretty pathetic when you see how the kid works his socks off. You have to show the same potential as someone like Benzema at Lyon to make a wild assumption like that. even Sturridge who is a similar age to Welbeck is higher up in the England setup and deservedly so and to say someone, even Sturridge could be the best in 4 years time is preposterous. BTW, stats aren't everything? He hasn't shown much on the field either. And stats you'll find are almost everything. You see that with Rooney's assists and goals. You see that with Ronaldo, Messi and Van Persie's goals. You see it with Scholes's pass completion and Valencia's assists. Neither of which Welbeck has.
care to tell us RVP'S stats when he was 21? LOL MUPPET.
LOL go ahead and get them he was playing in the dutch league and he was amazingly good which is why we were in for him LMFAO. I didn't ask anyone to buy Vanderwinkle or w/e his name is that was the other guy. And did I say he couldn't improve? He can but not to the detriment of the team. Hernandez and Berbatov are both better. Sturridge is the same age, why is he higher up in the England setup, go ahead and answer that :)
