Here is one "out of the box" formation that will produce goals and an attacking team (which is what we want): De Gea Rafael - Evans - Rio - Jones Valencia - Scholes - Nani Welbeck - Rooney Hernandez So basically a 4-3-2-1. Strong defense, very strong midfield (basically 5 midfielders) with both Welbeck and Rooney coming down and moving up as needed, linking up play for Hernandez to finish. Why not?

    Re: Starting 11 against City?

    De Gea + Rafael - Evans - Smalling - Jones + Valencia - Cleverley - Scholes - Nani + Wellbeck - Rooney.

Out with Rio, Evra and Carrick....and in with quicker, more aggresive, brave and fighting spirit in Smalling, Jones and Cleverley. Smalling for air ability against City big and tall players defensive and offensive. Jones better position, quicker and is a better tackler than Evra. Cleverley because he is quicker with and without the ball than Carrick, plus Cleverley can make better run with the ball forward...to help our attacking playing, not only passes. We have a good passer in Scholes, so i want another quicker central midfield player, more aggresive and can run forward, Cleverley has all the abilities to suit that role beside a deeper holding central midfield player in Scholes. Cleverley & Anderson was a success....I can Cleverley and Scholes can be a success too. Smalling and Jones in the defend to handle all the City quick small players. Smalling and Jones are quick and aggresive, but fair. Quick and pace without the ball combine with aggresive and give them lesser space and time are 2 key factors to stop their quick attacking players. Rafael and Evans are quick and aggresive too. So with all 4 quick defenders in Rafael, Evans, Smalling and Jones. Quick, aggresive and tall. Both good on the ground and in the air.....i am positive for a good result, if that back line start.

We shall be prepared of City quick players...that is why i want to see Smalling and Jones in our starting back line....and in the air...to stop city big and tall center back, again Smalling, Jones and Evans to stop them in the air, special when City has corner. But at the same time. Play our attacking football and make them scare...of quick attacking players too. That is why i will still use 4-4-2 for 2 strikers instead of only 1 striker in Rooney in a 4-5-1 formation. Rooney alone will be a difficult job for him against Kompany and Lescott, so he does need support from Wellbeck, Nani and Valencia and Cleverley.

With Rio and Evra out. The captain go the most experience Scholes or the figthing and high winning mentality in Rooney. But i prefer Scholes, so Rooney can focus on scoring.

i agree ...giggs to play instead of Jittery Jones.... i expect a 2-2 draw with united snatching a late equaliser. the way things are going a draw would be adequate...and would seal the title.

On paper City have more fire power than United. Watch Silva and Aguero. We just need to play deep and on the counter. Rafael should rest for this game and Smalling should come in instead. Otherwise, thats the only change I can make from the line up with Villa.

    Re: Starting 11 against City?

I cant belive it has come down to this. On Easter Sunday at 6pm the final whistle went at the Emirates stadium and United were 8 points clear and on theur way now after the Wigan and Everton results we go in to the city game knowing a defeat and it could be gone. Its really hard to predict this game the team, score and performance but il go with what i hope with mixed with what i expect. De Gea Jones Rio Evans Evra Valencia Scholes Carrick Nani Rooney Welbeck SUBS; Amos,Smalling,Park,Giggs,Young,Chicharito,Owen Rafeal was poor v Everton but i can remember him playing well vs City away last year but i can still see Fergie going for Jones there is word of a doubt with Evans but I can see him playin. Young may be the better option defensive wise but Nani offers that attacking something. I can see Rooney playin of Welbeck and helping out the midfield. Iv stuck Owen in as a sub as he is back now, has experience and THAT goal v City in 2009. As for the result i really dont no. I would defo take a draw but i gota say United to win i can see goals and a good game and am going for a FA cup repeat of CITY 2-3 UNITED. Rooney 25mins Aguro 40mins Nani 60mins Rooney 65mins Tevez 75mins. COME ON UNITED WE CANT LOSE LETS LIFT IT AND BRING HOME TITLE NO. 20

De Gea Smalling Evans Ferdinand Evra Jones Nani Carrick Cleverley Young Rooney Subs: Amos, Rafael, Giggs, Scholes, Valencia ,Chicharito, Welbeck. Jones to prevent Nasri,Silva from getting on the ball, Carrick,Clev and Rooney to play a triangle. The movement should tire City and after about 65 mins if City are dominating, we bring Scholes on for Clev and Valencia on for Young and if we are losing revert to 4-4-2 take Jones off for Welbeck, being a Manchester lad, he gets the nod ahead of Chicharito.
