Best RB in world football? Are you kidding me? He is a good player but tbh he is better going forward then defending. He cannot defend well at all and at times when teams counter against Barca its the right side which is vunerable as Alves ends up going missing...

Just watch the Chelsea match and watch what side most of their sucessful counters came from, hell the Torres goal resulted from a counter on the side in which Alves should have been covering.

The only reason Barca have a good record is because not many of the smaller Spanish teams have the guts or the nerve to counter and try attack Barca. Most of them sit back and just let Barca dictate the play. In all the games where Barca have struggled, Alves at times has been a weak link. Same with the Lb position, not the strongest defensively. Their two CBs are world class but Barca's main form of defence is through attacking and just keeping possesion.

Although I do rate him, I don't think Alves is the way to go. Defensively, he lacks a bit as he's always going forward. Then again, I highly doubt we are even after him at all.

Apart from Juninho Paulista who else did well over in England? And he was the most unstereotypical Brazilian ever as he was hard working!

Anderson time may be up but i know we have said it before but one more season and then after that we will have to let him go, i know he has had so many chances but the guy had potential and it feels like a huge waste to be honest and thats probably why we have stuck with him for so long. I kinda liked gilberto silva who played for arsenal many years ago, i rated him but i never watched him that often so im not the best to judge him lol but there hasnt been many outstanding brazillians.

His age is also the biggest factor in my eyes why we would never go for him, as you have said players from brazil dont have a good record of playing well when they get over 30 and alves would really be worth pennies if we were to sell him one day because of his age so we would spend a ton of money to get him here and then get one or two years out of him. Very scary to be honest, hopefully anderson doesnt follow that pattern because he hasnt hit his potential yet and with his injuries it doesnt look like he ever will. God knows why real madrid bought kaka to be honest, he looks half the player he once did and they spent so much money on him.
