lack of availability in the centre mid pos is hardly true look at toure who went to city in summer 2010 he is a class act why didnt we get him? or arteta who went to arsenal in summer for around 10m fair enough he is 30 but he would do a job atleast until somebody better comes along,or tiote last year cabaye this year all where availabe and went for cheap apart from toure who was around 24m but he is worth every penny a great midfielder people say yeah but he plays in africa every two years but so what! boateng went to milan for about 5m i bet we could have offered 8m and landed him all these players woud have improve the midfield i just dont believ we are trying hard enough look at chelsea and arsenal already signed players for next year
I DIDNT say that there is lack of availability of CMs... I said LACK OF TARGETS... Just because a CM is available, doesnt mean he is a target of ours.

Why? Lets see transfer fee was one reason, wage was another (£220K a week BASIC, Not even Rooney is on that much). Its clear yaya moved for money.. the fact that before he had even completed his first season at City he was harping on about going BACK to Barca in the near future....WHY would anyone subject themselves to that sort of rip off (Buying someone from Barca just to have them move back in a few years, Might as well just do a long term loan deal)

Arteta was a panic buy from Arsenal, he wasnt for sale from Everton, however when the deadline day bid came in, Arteta himself wanted to move and well Everton thought why not we need the money... Think of it this way, had Arsenal approached Everton mid-transfer window he WOULDNT have moved.

And look at who both teams have signed. Arsenal have completed yet another average signing... This season and last season are the first times EVER that Podolski has scored 15 goals or above in one season domestically.. In the domestic league Podolski is another average striker. He is only good for the German national team and he has already flopped and failed to make the cut on the big stage, at Bayern Munich... And Chelsea well they have landed some has-been prospect from 3 years ago who for someone who plays in a similar position to Rooney has only scored 1 goal all season and for the past 2 seasons has struggled to look above average and struggled in a Bremen side on decline.. Marin is actually worse now then he was 3 years ago and yet he is still young.

    Re: a blessing in disguise??

I dont think the problem is wining the ball tbh, Its more when we have it hold onto it. We have lost the ability to hold possession to put the pressure on. So many times on monday night i was watching giggs try and find a quick out but there was nothing there for him so he had to resort to hooking the ball up field hoping rooney would get on the end of it. Im sure it will be sorted out over the summer so im not worried just stating the obvious as we all do hehe!

MORE ATTENTION TO IMMEDIATE TEAM NEEDS YOU CHOSE WELLBECK YESTERDAY WHEN MANUTD BADLY NEEDED PUNCH WITH WELBECK´S GOALS /APPEARANCES RATIO OF 0.250 AND LEAVE CHICHA ON THE BENCH WITH A RATIO OF O.433 OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! DON´T YOU THINK? I PREFER TO TURN MY EYES TO BASEBALL NOW!
eH? Welbeck offers up more in holding the ball and and holding on to it. Watch more football and not goal Ratio stats.

with us almost handing city the title last night is this a wake up call to sir alex to enter the transfer market with more vigour to go and get the players we would not only like to see in a united shirt but also need. please discuss :)
Here is a thought for you, take a look at SAF's history at the club, how many times has be put a team together , taken it apart (even when it was winning) and then built a new team. Several. So why would anyone think, given his history, that he waits to see where the team finishes before deciding if he needs to improve it our not? Heck the summer after our last PL/CL double he went out and spent 30mil on another striker.

I really don't understand how people can ignore the history of how the man has operated and come up with stupidity like this.

I would never swap winning trophys for signings, no way.

You need to realise that guys like SAF and Gill don't make seat-of-the-trousers decisions for tens of millions. These decisions are made based on their future plans and really dont depend on results of individual games or even on who wins the league.

I still expect signings to happen but think how the league finishes will have little or nothing to do with it.

In terms of defending alba wouldnt come in to my head as a replacement for evra, we need a solid LB who defends. The most important quality a LB should have is to be able to get back and keep whoever is playing RM for the opposition quite. Some users presume a good LB has to be attack minded all the time and as proved with evra it doesnt always work out.
I agree with you man... I was thinking someone like Leighton Baines.

i was thinking more about those who think sir alex may claim theyr isnt anybody out there to make us better or there is no value in the market etc if we still win the title and that the team is strong enough, wich it clearly wont be next season, city will become stronger as will chelsea and arsenal
Well Fergie hasnt said anything about nobody out there.. He has just stated the players he want arent available.

That is about as realistic and truthful as you can get. Just because a big team come calling doesnt mean a team has to sell and doesnt mean a player is available.

We all know including Fergie that the team needs some additions, he made additions last summer and unfortunately he couldnt sort out the midfield due to lack of availability of our targets.

Can we really blame park?? Fergie picked him. What was he supposed to say? " no thanks sir Alex, I'm not up to it?" . I'm not against the decision to play him, he's bin great in big games before. My problem is that if he was gona play in this massive match, he shudda bin played in the games prior to this so he cud get up to speed. As it was he'd dun 1 90mins this year! Same wiv smalling n Jones, that's 3 players coming in cold. Not the game for that really, tho in the case of the latter 2 its more forgivable due to Evans injury n rafas poor defending. I'm sure if these 3 had had a run of games leading up to the Derby then it wuda made a difference. Then we have the valencia issue. Why oh why was he not in? One of our players of the season and much more reliable than nani, he shudda bin on right or at very least came on at half time when changes were needed. A massive balls up by fergie all round and I'm sure noone knows this more than him.

Makes me wonder how good he thinks, Park, Carrick and Welbeck are when he says their is no one better available. That is a sure sign of old age. No this is not a blessing in disguise this is a poor season which no good will come of it. We haven't spent wisely since Ronaldo left and he hasn't been evenly closely replaced. There are some fantastic players out there we need to get now.

To say its a blessing in diguise is stupid and thinking about transfers before the title wtf

One game isnt going to change Fergie's mind.

The whole season in general might and poor performances from Park, bad form from Evra, Ando being more injury prone etc will already have Fergie looking and working out what to do. One game where the problem was mainly tactical isnt going to change much
