No offence to those who regularly post here. But could we just give it a rest and give more air time for new threads?

I view this part of the Forum as something of a haven from some of the things that go on in other parts. During the summer I would return here from the front line battle-scarred and war weary, put down my sword and shield and find I could enjoy reading or posting in a more social, friendly and less antagonistic environment.

I don't think you need see the title of this thread as limiting social contribution in any direction. Like some of the others popular threads on here your contribution and any angle you choose to steer the thread in is within your control - witness this very debate we are having.

    No offence taken,

As a suggestion, if you want to start a discussion about something specific why not (if you know this is a popular) thread mention that you have started it on here and ask for people's contribution - I would have no problem with finding it and adding my thoughts.

Now that is an intelligent&constructive contribution from a very intelligent fan. Read in depth what he says and you will know what he means, I can, unintelligent ones cannot.YesBig Smile

evening all. hopefully United can play better than my "local team", the Melbourne Victory. lost 4-0 at home to the Central Coast... don't think it can get much worse than that! anyway, i can't wait for the game against Chelsea, and i have a good feeling about it.

I am not upset but I would like to see more of other threads. It seems that Anti-Muppet team thread along with many more others are hogging the fanzone in such a way that we don't get to see new threads, before we could even give the new threads a chance to live...they disappear in the bottom of the abyss due to threads like this still hogging the limelight. Its alright to have threads like this but do we have to like talk about it over a year?

As a moderating team we are discussing this problem already and are thinking about introducing a new forum that covers more general life topics so that threads like this can remain in Fanzone but other subjects can get a look in.  We're just fine tuning the idea at the moment.

seriously, I don't understand wallyballs...if he doesn't like this thread, why don't he report it to the mods rather than posting in here and asking people not to reply here anymore? who is he anyway?  Super Angry

    Good morning everybody.

At least Wallyballs had the decency to come on here and express his view, unlike some of the others who moan about these threads. However, it has been pointed out to him that he should stay away. Maybe he will take the advice. LOL!!

It's been really quiet on here the past 24 hours. Maybe it's the calm before the storm. LOL!! Hope it stays this way for a long time to come.

The Mods are doing a fantastic job by the way. Well done guys. Keep it up. The new changes are fabulous also, and I see that you guys have won the respect of the posters on here!!

    Three cheers for the Mods!!!

Sheesh, this thread has been around for over a year. No offence to those who regularly post here. But could we just give it a rest and give more air time for new threads? I just hope to see more diversity in the fanzone threads than the ones we regularly see here...its either games or this but rarely any social discussion, if anything at all.

Wallyballs....Stay out of this thread entirely.  You are acting like a child and aren't welcome here!

Hi all, Audouc !!!........It's been some time since my last post here...What you guys have been up to ??.....I can see that the forums having a new look and new forums as well....I know about Gavinio, Matt and TakenAsRed has been appointed as Mods, well my congrats to them....

Finally, we posters are going to get a healthy and well-run forum that we deserve.....By the way, about the game this weekend, I really do think that we have the more technically gifted players to hurt them...

I'm really looking forward for our new daddy, Wayne to score the winner...Or nor would I rule out a double act for both our newbies to fatherhood strikers to get on the scoresheet, Rooney and Berbatov.....

Have a nice day ya'll and I'm sure we'll be celebrating after this Sunday.....Big Smile

I suggested the IQ test thing also, but I don't think that it will go down well. We might be accused of violating their 'Human Rights'. LOL!!! Yes, we lack 'world class' players. LOL!! For argument sake, let us say that SAF bought Aguerro, David Villa and David Silva. He sells Nani, Berbatov and Owen. We have Rooney, Aguerro, Silva, Villa, Macheda, Welbech and Joshua King. Who would SAF play? We will start looking like a certain blue team. And the wage bill will be astronomical. Maybe the 80 million is a pot of gold and will last forever!!! At the start of the season it was the goalkeepers. Last month it was the midfield, last week it was the strikers. This week it is the defense. I don't think that anybody is immune to an attack. I am surprised that they have not gone after Fred the Red!!! LOL!!! What would we do without him?LOL!!!
lol, after all, it's their basic human right to try and destroy this forum isn't it?? don't be surprised if next they're chasing "substitutes" because they've run out of positions to think of!

Haha. Their probably gonna go for the kit man later. Stick out tongue

lol. i wonder how long it'll be before they demand we sign Chuck Norris!

LOL!!! I hope Chelsea doesn't sign him first!!

    Hello everybody.

Sorry about not reporting the guys yesterday. I will next time. We really don't need fans like them.

I see that these threads on Fan Zone seem to be getting under the skin of some of our members. Shame, no one is forcing them to read these threads. Anyway, we all need a nice, safe, sane place to escape to once in a while.

I am dreading these forums after the Chelsea game. I cannot believe how little faith people have in our defense. Tumble-fumble Drogba is gonna crush our defense. I respect Drogba and I think that he is a good striker and he is in decent form now, but we have kept him under wraps in the past, and I believe that we can do it on Sunday. But the way the folks on here are going on, it seems like we are playing defenders on crutches against Drogba and Chelsea. We should have Fletcher back, so I am sure that SAF is working on a plan to keep the supply to Drogba and Anelka to a minimum.

I just hope that the ref is wise to Drogba's theatrics (he seems to love studying the pitch face to face). Someone should buy him a microscope. LOL!!! Also, I hope that the focus is not solely on Drogba and as a result, we get hurt by some of their other players. I can't wait to see Evra back at Stamford Bridge!!! Sounds like a mouthwatering prospect. And I wonder how the players will react to Ballack!!!

Anyway, the muppets seem to be away, sharpening their knives, so it is very quiet on here today!!!

Hope you guys have a great day!!!

the thing with a lot of these threads is that many of us who reguarly post in them see them as "social threads". this basically means that we chat with other like-minded posters more informally on a sort of "friendship" type basis, something that is very hard to achieve in any other part of the forum. that is the reason why these sort of threads stay up for a very long time.
