Re: Title thrown away who do you blame?

cant be blaming individuals i do have a number of individuals in mind but if we for instance didnt throw away goals at trafford to everton then maybe we would be in THAT very driving seat for 20 titles now

SAF made too many mistakes. (He did make some brilliant moves too, like bringing back Scholes. )

Owners and agents. Former championship side City have got buying power over everyone even though they've won nothing. We're even loosing youth players to cash now. If any side had 200 million to spend (even waste if they want sometimes) it would be easy for any manager. Mancini has shown no authority this season, playing Balotelli to see him let the side down again and again and letting a person like Tevez swan back in to pick up a winners medal. I will never credit that. With teams like Madrid and City inflating prices and swamping the market it simply can't be competetive on any level. Good clubs like Arsenal who find real talent and try to build a team honestly will only suffer for their efforts in todays game. I don't care what anyone says, money is threatening to kill the game for me personally.

well at the start of the season our new goalkeeper let us down on some matches for instance blackburn at home then we lost vidic for rest of season and afterwards fletcher so relly it was a mixture of goalkeeping errors and unfortunate injurys thats my opinion anyway

very good points indeed,,but if we need look at the season as a whole,,very poor in europe ??easy group??poor team selection??fergie got it wrong,,,,league cup??crystal palace beat us at home,,fa cup ,we ran the game and lost to liverpool,,league??underestermated wigan,,poor team selection at city,,tactics wrong,,but in saying that,86/89 points total would normally win you the league by about 8/10 points,,but if its not to be our year,,unlucky,,,but we need to bring in some top players for next season,or else we could be left behind by city chelsea arsenal spurs next season,,time for a clear out?? maybe, who knows,,only fergie can sort this out,,so whatever happens next week ,lets look forward to next season,,,come on you reds

Is it too many young players? The managers tactics? The older players? The crowd? The team as a whole are not good enough? Injuries? I think the manager is struggling now to keep up with younger managers,Sir Alex has been unbelievable for our club it has been like a fairytale what he has achieved.I would hate all that to be forgotten or tarnished by him staying for a season or 2 to long.
I blame the opposition. if only they weren't better than us we would win the league

Everyone has a bit of responsibility in finding Man Utd 2nd best this season. The title has been thrown away from the point we had a massive 8-point lead. The manager for his lineups, the players for giving away silly points like against Wigan and Everton and may be a bit the supporters for criticizing too much and not getting behind the team enough.Injury to key players also contributed to our trophiless season.good luck Man Utd for next season!!!

We can't blame SAF voor this season, SAF has been there done that! This season was a crazy season, we have bad luck and we lost Vidic due to injury, who is our main player and captain of the team. We had, during the season, some wake-up calls like: losing to Blackburn, drawing at Chelsea and Losing to Wigan, but we didn't care and we didn't take that serious! But, when we draw against Everton, a game that we all thought was a won game after we from behind to make it 4-2 and then gave it away, at that time I thought our season was over! And to me, a season without trophies is a failure! Make of it what you want.

Re: Title thrown away who do you blame?

in my opinion the challenge this season was always going to be from City...just because of the financial issue...but in all honestly man for man they have put together in one or two seasons a better squad than ours, even though weve got players with years of winning under their belt. in contrast for SAF it was always about how with a much smaller financial budget he could make his weaker transitional signings not run out of steam, with young players put into key areas. unfortunately this left us to over rely on the older players or more importantly the expensive established players who frankly have not stepped up over the last few seasons and have not been able to offset the transitional inexperienced signings. ideally we should have signed a creative midfielder and we should have signed a leader in the middle in order to go toe to toe with City who signed numerous world class signing. ok we've been here before with teams taking a money approach to success, but i think SAF was onto a loser this season whatever he was able to achieve with his managerial skills. i'm just amazed we managed to even get close to them, we have been over achieving for a couple of seasons with a squad weakened by selling bigger players than the ones we have brought in or seeing retirements in key areas. but rather than everyone losing the plot and getting depressed about this situation, its important to get things into perspective, namely if we sign those 2 or 3 key players we should have signed this season it could be quite tasty next season. lets all hope we can bring in some brilliant, exciting, talented players and we might even get a Man Utd team playing flowing, dominant football again, which actually is more important than the hard faced approach to short term success. over to you SAF.

    Well said Joe

Although at one point it was a larger injury list then 10... Like I said at one point we went through a 5/6 week period where our list of injuries chopped and changed between 12-15.. I remember one weekend being without our 2 main goalkeepers too.

Aye I remember Amos played. It's getting pretty depressing coming onto this forum (which is addictive) and seeing people slating our team, it would be less agonising seeing what they are saying on bluemoon about us.

So many times in the season where 1 point would have us in front now:

    1. Newcatle 1-1, Never was a penalty 2 points dropped.

    2. Blackburn 3-2, Could of held on atleast at 2-2 shouldn't of been 2-0 down in 1st place. 3 points dropped.

3.Chelsea 3-3, Should of won this made it difficult for ourselves even though a point appeared good at the time, 2 points dropped.

    4. Manchester City 6-1, So stupid to lose by that much, had we not conceded those last 3 even we would be 6 goals better off in GD at onl 4 behind, 3 points dropped and 10 GD created.

    5. Wigan 1-0, Silly lineup cost us this simple as no passion arrogant display, 3 points dropped.

    6. The big one Everton 4-4. Amazing how that happened just terrible, 2 points dropped.

Altogether this is 15 points dropped and only 4 from winning positions, which basically shows you we have really failed to reply when going behind this season, you look at Sunderland drawing 3-3 at City that looked like a good result for us but that one point now is likley to have won them the league along with their GD.

    This

All them points AS WELL as:

    - All the injuries we have faced. At one point we had 12-15 players out for a period of 5-6 weeks.

    - The City game last week was also a poor one

    - Negative 4-5-1 tactics and playing for a draw has cost us at times.

Considering we had 10 or 11 players out at the same time at one point in the season I am really pleased at where we are in the table.

We have had 10 players out at once and plagued by injuries through the whole season including the best defender in the world, Vidic.

We are second due ONLY to goal difference.

We have 89 points, the highest ammount of points to be gained by a team that has come runner-up.

City have spent in the past 5 years £530 million on their team and have only just scraped a goal difference title win.

We have been blooding new talent throughout the whole season.

.... and last but not least, the ammount of stick the team and manager are recieving off the so called "fans" they have done bloody damn well. In my eyes we have had a successful season in England and next season we will see a very good United side. This critisism is really***ing me off. If nobody has anything good to say then keep your thoughts to yourself.

Re: Title thrown away who do you blame?

Blaming people won't win us a title... All we can do is concentrate on working to improve our squad, through transfers, promoting youth and just general getting our sh*t sorted.

That said City HAVEN'T WON THE TITLE YET.
