Re: 2 good games and everyone will say Gaitan is the best in the world

there are players we would love to have and there are players we can have. 3years back everyone was dreading the signining of antonio valencia from wigan people saying he wouldnt make the cut but he turned out to be an exceptional signing united is not in a position where we can go buy any players us signing players this year requires hell lot of groundwork like butter up the agents the club a series of negotiation unlike the oil mafia or the scousers(they can get the players they want but all they are interested in is trash)but at the end of the day if saf gets a player he will make him play the fullest and make him compete against the worlds best

All these people slatting Gaitan will love him if he has a couple of good games. The poor bloke has got a good record in the Champions League and says he wants to play for us. Surely the bloke deserves a chance?
But he's not worth his price tag and from what I've seen not as good as Nani or Valencia.
So if we did sign him does that mean you and many others on here that don't rate him are questioning Fergusons judgement ? that is sacriligious.
I dont remember SAF saying he was going to sign him. There is a difference between questioning his judgment and coming here and slagging him off every day.

Here's the thing..Gaitan is 24, at that age a player should look better than others e.g mata etc... However from what i have seen of him he looks decent but not special.. Compare him to hernandez both transfers a risk due to them not playing out of respective leagues and both a bit older than whats ideal... However hernandez was £7million, Gaitan would be £25million+ so i dont mind risks but that seems to much of a risk.. hernandez was relatively cheap and so if he did not turn out good, there would not be a big loss, but Gaitan would..........But in comparison if we were to pay that for.. Hazard/Rodriguez/Eriksen etc it wouldnt be as much of a risk as they look better all ready and are about 2yrs or 4yrs younger..
Dontcha wish your striker was RVP? Dontcha wish your winger was Tony V? DONTCHA?

No offence but i hate remarks like this, of course we have a right to judge and question decision's that the board and SAF make. Aslong as it is constructive and helps us in moviing forward.

About Gaitan, He may have had an ok Champions legaue, but just look at the teams involved, apart from us,who else is a remarkable team in our group stage. I have just one other comment to make on him. Look at his stats in the Portuges league this season. No where near good enough for the type of player he is. And can you see him doing any better in a much Harder league?!

    Because i can not.

Well these days its hard to put a price tag on any player with the likes of City,Chelsea & Real Madrid willing to spend whatever then price tags are priceless for these teams so other teams slap insane amounts on their players.
I hope City are the ones that get robbed blind for Gaitan if that's the case.

The bloke is hardly worth 10 million let alone the 25-30 million being quoted. The bloke deserves a better agent who doesn't try and *** him out to a team that has constantly said aren't interested.

At the mo no where near Valencia or Nani, and for the prices being mentioned, we have to stay away. Having seen him this season and not just against us, the guy has a long way to go before proving he wouldn't be a terrible purchase.
