I was outside the hotel that the team are staying in near Belfast tonight. I was with my two sons one seven and one three. We waited with approx a dozen others to see the team board the bus and some autographs etc. Met Giggs first and he stopped and was fantastic with the kids then waited for the others. Rooney came out first and completely ignored everyone including the kids. This is disgusting from what our kids look to be a hero. He never uttered a word it even looked at them. His attitude stank. Rest of team came out and were fantastic including the medical team who stopped and helped one of the fathers who had fallen over and suspected broken leg as a result. But have to say that Rooney broke hearts tonight his treatment towards his loyal fans disgusted me. Never have I seen a player of any club do that. And I only wish there was a way to complain to Utd. Poor ambassador for the club. Hope he never sees the disappointment on the faces of his own sons like I did tonight on my own sons and those other children around me
Give him a break. He's obvious still upset about this season, and still no value in the market.

I totally understand your dissapointment mate, I live in the United States and that happens a lot with athletes here too. I know a lot of people are saying that his duty is not to sign autographs or that they are also humans but come on when you play for United you know u are in the public eye and kids are looking up to you as a role model, that should have been enough for Wazza to at least smile back to the kids...is just my opinion.

Well mate for those saying over the top. It wasn't to the kids and I'm not just talking about my own. There was a good few of them crying and it wasn't just the fact he didn't sign an autograph it was the fact he couldn't even acknowledge any of them even a simple nod would have done. As for having a hard weekend are you having a laugh. He's paid thousands for the privilege of playing football. His attitude was *** poor. He just couldn't give a damn and yeah he was only like three foot away he just turned his head away
There we go, you expect and do not see him as a human being. Do you know that most people waiting outside hotels for autographs are only there so they can sell them? How do you know the team was not told to get straight on the coach but once Giggs stopped it spiralled and Rooney felt like he could not then get off.

Sounds to me its you crying and not the kids.

How many millions of United and England fans want Rooney's autograph?

I understand the disappointment but rooney will havnt taken losin the title easy, it will still be hurting him and everyone else at the club. He is human at the end of the day and sometimes we as humans arnt in the mood for people, sounds awful as a professional but im sure rooney didnt do it to annoy any of you waiting and im sure signing autographs is the last thing on his mind. Legends like giggs and scholes tend to sign autographs though, giggs always seems to have time for fans and so does scholes , guess thats why we love them aswell as there on the pitch displays.
    Paul Scholes our midfield maestro!

This is the exact type of sentiment that prompted me to remind you they are just people, like any of us, doesn't matter how much they are paid to do what.

Seeing dissapointing on our kids is an horrible thing, but is our responsabilty as parents tell to our kids that sport stars have bad days sometimes, you and your sons are so lucky for healthy and waste some time with the other players

Jeeeez it's not written into his contract to sign autographs ya know. If I was a footballer and I was tired or in a mood for whatever reason I wouldn't stop to entertain the fans either. Same goes for anyone.
