Re: How about the new young players? Who has impressed you most?

For me the bedrock of a solid, fantastic young squad is there. When you consider the amount of games that (some of) over the past two seasons have played we are in good stead for the future and immediacy; De Gea, Rafael, Fabio, Evans, Smalling, Jones, Anderson, Cleverley, Welbeck, Nani and Hernandez (what an exciting starting 11 that would be in the 433 formation). Then when you think of the other players who are starting to mature like Lindegaard, Fletcher, Valencia, Young and Rooney then we have a very, very good squad.

But in terms of stepping up from the academy I think that Fryers impressed me the most, just from watching him play at that level and senior level. his game didn't change, hopefully he signs a new contract and continues his development with more starts next year!

Evans and Smalling were consistant and can only get better. Jones started off really well but found it difficult in the later part of the season (I think he was played out of position too often). Wellbeck showed glimpses of class but needs to improve on his finsihing and perhaps bulk up. De Gea is going to be class and prove all the critics wrong. Rafael just doesnt do it for me and I honestly dont think he is a natural defender. I dont want to judge Cleverly just yet.
I have to disagree with you on Rafael. He is fearless, great going forward, admittedly his defending is not the best but that didn't stop Cafu or Roberto Carlos being world class players. he will improve with age, he has been my favourite youngster this season closely followed by Jones.

Welbeck & De Gea, two top talents who will make up the core of the team, we have seen glimpses from Smalling,Jones and Cleverley injuries have hindered them but they have great potential.
    Summed up perfectly mate.
    I agree

Jury's still out on Cleverley for me, didn't overly impress me whilst on loan/in the reserves and I didn't think he'd make it, but he started the season in great form. Him and Welbeck have a great understanding, hopefully they both have an injury-free season so we can really see what Cleverley is capable of.
Dont think its a case of his quality, i think anyone who has watched him closely knows that he can produce some great things and looks a great prospect. He just needs to stop picking up injuries and prove to us all he isnt injury prone, then he can nail down a starting place in our line up and we can judge him better.
Well he and others aren't just going to get punted. Fergie puts great faith in young player just ask Fletcher. We can't affored just to sell them anyway. If they don't go on to be starters they will become squad players.

Which is the new young player who has impressed you most? For me, Cleverly certainly caught my eye until his injury left him out of several matches. Hope he will prove to be even better next season.
It doesn't matter, does it? They'll be sold sooner or later because the experienced but retiring players are having an OCCUPYING UNITED campaign
Of course they won't be sold sooner our later they are the foundations, we have a good core of young players who will be playing for us for 8-10 years.
Agreed, anyone who thinks the likes of cleverley, welbeck, jones, smalling etc will be sold are very naive. They will be the core of our team for years to come and if cleverley stays injury free he will go on to be a class act for us, i beleive what we saw early on in the season is just things to come from the young lad.
