Re: CREATE a line up with HAZARD and Kagawa - i dont think its possible

I don't quite understand why all the fuss about no playing time for Chicha or Welbeck. Even if we sign both Hazard and Kagawa, we would play a 5 man midfield only in Europe or against the top teams in the PL. The rest of the time we would play a 4 man midfield with 2 strikers as Carrick(ideally a proper defensive midfielder) & Kagawa/Cleverly would manage fine (given Scholes and Carrick managed fine). Anyways we play a 5 man midfield against these top teams most of the time (not last season obviously, since we had no central midfielders), so nothing changes, Welbeck and Chica continue to be super subs in such games. My only concern is Carrick does not fit into this formation as he is neither a great defensive midfielder and seems to have lost his passing ability.

I cannot believe the amount of people suggesting Carrick as a lone midfielder.

A ten man 4-4-1 would beat our midfield with just Carrick back there.

All formations have no welbeck or chicharito, can't neglect those two class strikers by using a 5 man midfield, fergie wouldn't use any of these formations I believe with all due respect.
If you know the basics about Hazard and Kagawa is that Hazard is an attacking midfielder/winger and Kagawa is an attacking midfielder. So you still need another winger if you want to play hazard on one flank, and you still need to play 2 in CM as none of these players play there. I don't think were going to buy Kagawa and leave him on the bench either!

    Therefore, you have to have:

    1. A 2 Man CM

    2. A winger + Hazard on the opposite flank

    3. Kagawa as an attacking midfielder

Leaving space for just one striker!

    volcom:
How on earth are we to fit these two guys in which ultimately leads me to think we ARENT signing both. i think it will be kagawa we get but if we are to get both then a drastic change in our system is needed or else a number of players will miss out.

its really strange to hear us being linked with getting both and thus its strange to hear us changing our formation and system which i dont think would happen under ferguson.

USE THIS WEBSITE GUYS :) http://www.footballuser.com/post

Here is a couple i thought of.

the problem with this is kagawa is deep, he is not a central midfielder however fergie might have different plans. the second problem is that * IMPORTANT - hazard wants first team football, he stated he will choose the team best for him with regular starting position. i dont think he would get that as it would leave either nani young on the bench consistently.

second idea has rooney as a lone striker which people do not fancy

I actually think this could be our best line up. yes we miss out on rooney creating from deep. but fact is we have a good finisher up front that we dont have to mould and he has shown so 3 seasons ago when he hit 30 odd in a lone position and we wouldnt miss out because kagawa has took the role that has been left. with hazard and valencia on the wings we dont only have power.....but lightening fast players and ONE MAJOR IMPORTANT FACTOR - DIRECT. Valencia and hazard , if you have watche dthem, are within a low list of players that are direct...meaning as soon as they get the ball, they look to beat their man instantly instead of passing out again. this is why valencia and an IN FORM nani are so threatening.

the best part is midfield ....cleverley is going to be our best player in my opinion next season. having watched him grow up and enjoyed his early season he has one major benefit that NONE bar scholes in our team seem to have from midfield.

..........he passes.........and instantly moves into space.

watch all our early season games where we were so called amazing, you will notice it was because of our one touch passing. and yyou will notice this was so fluid and possible because of tom.....he was always moving forward with one twos....and the ball was kept moving.

HE ALONE is the reason why i have high hopes next season. so under rated and has a ridiculous injury prone tag. honestly....watch his performances....he is always moving into space and moving FORWARD.....where as the rest of our players in cm seem to keep safe and possession and thus leaves us rigid at times ......hence our rigid 4-4-2 tag.

so people if anyone read all i had to say i thank you and hope you share a resonable respectful opinion.

i know there is alot of threads on these two transfer targets but i wanted to create a different lone one SOLELY one formation of fitting BOTH into our lineup. hopefully someone will persuade me that signing both and fitting them in is possible. also....it looks like anderson is leaving, he supposedly has been made available for a transfer.

so go onto the website i provided if you want, i create some formations that will include kagawa and hazard in one line up........again this is the reason as to why i DONT think it is possible we will get both.

    peace

only the second one would work but i would like to see a defensive midfeilder rather than cleverley in that line up because teams last season was just able to walk past our midfield and carrick isnt a ball winner so we need one because we havnt got one someone like martinez ,strootman, tiote or mvila if we played clevs and carrick in the middle teams would continue to walk past our midfield we would always be exposed. 2 holding/defensive mids carrick and one of them in midfielder keeping the defence protected and then 4 attackers playing quick pacey football in front of them if we lose the ball we have 2 defensive/holding midfielders to win us it back and keep things ticking it would be a dream for carrick and one of them other players i mentioned with rooney kagawa hazard and nani in front of them making runs oppistion defences wouldnt be able to cope with our attacks and our midfield is strong and our defence protected 4-2-3-1 is the way to go! de gea. clyne. vidic. ferdinand. evra. mids) carrick. strrotman/tiote/fellaini/mvila/martinez. attackers) nani. kagawa. hazard, striker) rooney. thats a champions league winning team!

Re: CREATE a line up with HAZARD and Kagawa - i dont think its possible

If we sign Hazard he'll probably get the #7; he has both the ability and the arrogance/confidence to make it his own and SAF has likely seen many a time that type of player (e.g. Ronaldo). The preferred position thing is likely just a media comment; no-one would agree terms with MU and then hope to dictate their position to SAF. He'll probably be happy starting behind the striker but in a fluid formation that allows him to drift. For example: 4-2-3-1 (couldn't get picture to paste): GK: De Gea RB: Raf / Smalling / Jones CB: Evans / Rio / Jones CB: Vidic / Smalling / Jones LB: Evra / Baines CM: Carrick / Scoles / Fletcher / Giggs CM: Scoles / Cleverly / Kagawa / Giggs CAM: Hazard / Kagawa / Cleverly / Nani / Rooney RM: Nani / Valencia / Hazard / Kagawa LM: Young / Nani / Hazard / Kagawa CF: Rooney / Wellbeck / Chicha Obviously a lot of those positions are interchangeable beyond what i've put. Defensively the team would need to press together and I've disregarded the notion of a 'DM' as I don't believe in it if the team presses together, intelligently and quickly. Offensivly it should dominate the ball and be fluid enough to make the other team chase the ball and get tired and out of position. Depending on Fletcher's health and Scholes, Cleverly's and Giggs' fitnees it might need another midfielder e.g. Strootman/Martinez or perhaps someone from the reserves. Depending on Wellbeck and Chicha's fitness it may need another striker/promotion of a reserve.

Yep but thats another point too. But if Hazard did really say this, I can't see that SAF would be too enamored with a prospective signing even trying to dictate his own positional play, as obviously only one person picks the team.

Despite his undoubted ability, his character, it appears, is a kind that SAF would usually avoid.

Hazard seems to think he can walk into a club and get picked week in week out, thats the impression I get anyway. At a big club like us you cannot expect that, you will have competition and quality competition at that, if he comes then he could well be sulking if things don't go his way.

Kagawa has played centrally many times before and has the ability to defend and can still attack. Personally I think we will return to how we were the start of last season playing some very fast paced attacking football.
In a two man midfield? When mate?
IIRC he has done when he was in the J-league and has done on the odd occasion when needed for Dortmund.

Maybe using the word many was very much an exageration, But having played in the position before he does have the dicispline to play there and wouldnt have to completely learn a new position.

Fair enough mate, just never seen him there with Dortmund usually CAM,RAM or LAM. If both come then I get the feeling that we'll try and mould him into a cm but I think that would be a waste of his talents, he comes alive in the final third and is effective in drifting around, slotting through passes etc. Three man midfield would be perfect for him but I don't see that happening, if not then I would much prefer to see him behind the striker.

It looks likely that he wants to come to us and im sure positions would have been discussed, so have to see what he decides.

If we don't sign another CM than this formation is the only one I could see. I'm unsure if it would work out for us, personaly I would prefer a more defencive one.
