therealry:What we see in this thread is the basic problem with this suggestion. People would automatically expect that it be spent on a big name every summer, and if instead it was say spent on 2 smaller names people would go balastic. Then there is the issue of once this amount is donated, every team knows the club pretty much have to spend it and here we go with them asking extra money for transfer fees again, perhaps.
The key to doing this is that those who donate basically have to realize they still have ZERO say in who or how it is spent during the transfer window and accept that It has to be a no strings attached donation. If SAF or whoever want to buy 4 $10mil younsters with it, then you just have to deal with it.
Agreed people would have to scrap this us buying a player thing. And realise that this money would be better spent clearing the debt. As the club is self sufficient. And when FFP comes in and is enforced we will most likely be the most powerful club in the world, Also we for example might want to buy Sneidjer. But maybe SAF doesn't. I would never presume to tell SAF you must play our player. It has to be the debt cleared.
Firstly we would need to find the amount of members that actually come on here. Or start some sort of Kone 2012 viral campaign.
Also it would have to be agreed with the Glazers and club this is what we are doing. And it must be used to clear the debt.
We would need to appoint someone in charge of the account. And also as suggested earlier I think half of all donations should be given to charity or we will be slated around the world. Even though like me I'm sure lots of you give to charity already. But the media and rival fans would never think of that. And we would be slated.
for this to happen though someone would need to talk to the powers that be. Anyone in the Aberdeen area fancy a stakeout of the Union Plaza building. As I happen to know that is his solisiters and that he visits frequently. I have people on the inside too. But you know this might be deamed a bit extreme and a total invasion of his personal life.
Personally given certain guarantees by the Glazers I would be fully behind this. Just as long as the debt was cleared.
