Re: HATE TO SAY IT, but we are the new Arsenal!!!!

As I said in an earlier post, one thing that people constantly forget about Arsenal is that they MOVED TO A NEW STADIUM in recent years and that has obviously compromised their financial muscle. All other premier clubs who built a new stadium were actually relegated soon after, so it's a feather in Arsenal's cap that they have retained top-four status in recent years. I tend to agree that they will will be back in the near future .... lest we forget, also, they're the third most successful club in England. We definitely should not underestimate Arsenal (apart City and Chelsea of course) so YES I would be very very worried if we were not to bring on some new great talent this summer.

Attracting cheap buys and overly depended on our managers tactics rather than the players ability..Nani like RVP holding the club for ransom so he can get a bigger pay check....like Rooney... Fans complaining about midfield problems which the manager ignores like Wenger (but for arsenal its defence problems)....Kagawa, Dembele and Powell all not proper CMs...Overly depended on Rooneys goals like (RVP)...Many injury prone players like Arsenal.....Players with potential but never reach it like Anderson, Nani..etc..Arsenal has Denilson, Diaby, Arshavin...etc. Can no longer compete with other clubs for our targets...Dont even remember the last time someone scored a traditional late minute winner for Utd.... I know this thread is all doom and gloom but Nani's news has really brought me down...
I'm sorry but every team has the same problems. United have had them in waves in the past. We have not always had the perfect team. Building one and gellng together takes time. United are revolutionising the way football teams need to play and it does not involve having to spend millions of pounds. Wenger is doing the same thing and look at his young emerging squad. They will be a force to be reckoned with next season. Walcott, OxladeChamberlain, RVP, Vermaelen, Song, Koscielny, Podolski, etc. Don't write them off. ;United and other teams will have to be on their toes. SAF has his eye on all the movements and goings on at other clubs and trust me he knows what Wenger is trying to create. A young new vibrant team who will challenge for all the cups. Just like at UNITED. Stop looking at the rich money teams. It does not buy success year in year out. If we are to be described as the new Arsenal, that's not a bad thing surely, considering the fact that they have a solid manager who is likely to be at their club a lot longer than SAF and could suddenly start to win things. We on the other hand have to continue to get stronger so that we attract a decent ambitious manager who is happy to work with the academy too NOT just want a lot of money to spend.

Something of a myopic view based on the results of one season

Nani's situation is indicative of too much player (and agent) power in the transfer market; which has been skewed by teams such as Chelsea and City (as well as other teams) and also by the fact that their MRP is high.

We're nothing like Arsenal; we've won over twenty major trophies whilst SAF has been in charge.

Have some faith in our current players (though some reinforcements are needed).

Re: HATE TO SAY IT, but we are the new Arsenal!!!!

Well the way the glazers are spending are money & the way Fergie keeps covering for them, and the way Fans keep going on about history etc,if we are not careful we will become the new Liverpool more like. Unless the glazers sell up to some rich man who can clear the debt, then United will remain in debt for the next couple of years, and in that time i think the squad will suffer for this "burden" that has been inflicted on the club by the owners.

United do not need a sugar daddy to buy players,as the money United generates as a franchise would be more then enough to make decent signings, but as it stands that money United generates is being used to service the debt, regardless of what they say,why do you think they are so reluctant to compete with the likes of City & Chelsea,at the end of the day the transfer market is not going to change over night.

If you want "Class or High performing players" then unfortunately you have to pay silly amounts these days.

I said it once and ill say it again Manchester United is a goldmine it generates lots of riches(money) however the Glazer family are the miners, and they "borrowed" money to get their mining business up and running, the mine is generating plenty of revenue to keep the business afloat, however very little profit is being made, and little profit is being made due to the money generated from the gold is going to service the debt.

And until the debt is cleared, then the Mine(are club) will keep being mined of its minerals(money) with very little investment going into new and better equipment(players) on the bright side we have to be thankful that are club is generating so much money other wise we could be in an even worse position then what we are in now "Financial wise" hence why since the Glazers took over they look at ways of expanding the franchise with sponsor ships etc.

As without those United would be in deep doo doo, this is not a doom & gloom post its just is what it is.

mmm i can taste the tears

Re: HATE TO SAY IT, but we are the new Arsenal!!!!

This actualy should make a number of posters here very happy. for years the pundits and other (including posters here) have said Arsenal play the best looking football in the league. For years a number of posters here have said they do not care where United finishes they just want them to play attractive football. So they must be very happy at this prospect.
