Re: Modric for 35-40m or 1 or 2 unproven CM's?

Modric is a fantastic player but expensive, I would be delighted if he came but would also settle for Cabaye & Strootman or Fellani

Schweinsteiger would definitely be a great choice, but unfortunately I don't think he will ever leave Bayern.....

One player I would liked to have seen here, especially on a free was Montolivio, but he has opted for AC already

Anyone but Modric. He is overrated and does not worth 30+MIL. If he has for 20-25Mil then yes, but 30+ is an immense price for a midfielder that for my opinion does not score enough.

Personally I would love Modric however Dembele won`t do a bad job as a box to box midfielder for £11,000,000.

    Phil Lambert.:
My problem with Uniteds midfield is the quality of it. On the wings I think we are very good. Through the center though, we have a lot of work to be done still:

Giggs: At his age, we cannot rely on him much

    Scholes: Same as Giggs

    Anderson: Just not good enough

Fletcher: Bad illness, will he be ready for next year? Who knows

Cleverley: Young, has some some good play and some average play. He just needs time

Carrick: Had a good season last year, but is missing that wow factor. You never expect a piercing ball which splits the defence with him

Park: Been a good servant, but again, at the end of his career now

Now with that said, I think a mixture of both quality and quantity are needed really. I personally would much rather sign Dembele (10m), Fellaini (17-20m), Martinez (25m), Cabaeye (15-17m), Tiote (18-20m), Willian (20m? not really sure),

Ok, so I am not saying buy all of them, I just mean 2, but I think with the signing of Kagawa, in a lot of games, we may implement a 451 with Kagawa just behind Rooney. This means we need to good central midfielders. Carrick can play the role really well, just sat behind the main attack, giving the ball to our attack, but I think Dembele and Fellaini also sat in there would do a great job. What you get from them two is power, the ability to win the ball higher up the pitch, and with Dembele, you have a player that can run with the ball, spread the ball, and start an attack in which Valencia, Young, Kagawa and Rooney can finish off....(I went a bit off subject and I am sorry for that, but yes, id prefer a few players rather than modric

You tell the truth but I replace Dembele to Schweinsteiger in my wishlist

I would take a complete, proven PL midfielder such as Modric over 2 unprovens in a heartbeat. We seen to have enough youth and talent already we need one or two to come in and make an impact right away and Modric fits the bill.

Tough choice depends on what type of midfielder we are looking at, Martinez would be my no.1 choice.

I don't think Modric is worth 40m so I'd prefer to take Strootman and Allen.
