Player name: Theodore Gebre Selaisse National team: Czech Republic Club team: FC Slovan Liberec Position: Wing Back Age: 25 Match scouted: Czech Republic 2-1 Greece (12th June 2012) Key moment: Turned and swiftly ran past a Greek defender to put in a dangerous ball for Vaclav Pilar to score Czech Republic's second goal. Strengths: Exceptionally gifted right back, blessed with pace, marauding runs, pinpoint crosses and has the ability to read the game. Cemented his place in the national team within a year. Weaknesses: Might struggle with the physical aspect of the English game. No other obvious weaknesses. Suitability: He is quick, runs forward on counter attacks and tracks back without compromising on defense - just the way full backs at United have played over the years. Can deputize for the injury prone Da Silva twins. Estimated cost: Highly regarded talent in the Czech league. Would have cost £7-8 million before Euro 2012, price could go up to £10-15 million, based on Czech Republic's performances.

I Agree with you I really like Dzagoev he is a great all rounder a little small ,well light but so is nani and we toughed up that. I also like Aleksandr Kerzhakov but he is too old. Igor Denisov the Russian no7 Plays for zenith is 28 also too old but really solid player. Dzagoev will be a hot commodity after Euros you'll see like Ozil after WC.

    Re:

Just my opinion i would like to see at least 2 of these. Modric, Sneijder, Khedira, Cabaye, De Rossi,... Modric: I Thought Modric played really well reminds me of Xavi how he creates so much space for himself.. Sneijder: Best i have seen play was really creative and was really good on the ball... Khedira: i think is a fantastic sitter but he is also very good at getting forward aswell.. Cabaye: Good passer also can shoot, could also do a job defensively for us... De Rossi: Thought he was very good did a job at sweeper role would love to see him in front of Rio and Nemanja.... Very good at shutting things down and good range of passing..

Scouting Report Player name: Christian Eriksen National team: Denmark Club team: Ajax Amsterdam Position: Attacking Midfielder Age: 20 Match scouted: Netherlands vs Denmark 9th June 2012 Key moment: I couldn't pick one moment. He played box to box until he was taken off. He controlled and dictated the Danish midfield. Strengths: Physically - He's fast, he's not very big but he is very fast. Technically - He is a good passer and has an eye for players making runs. Mentally - He seems smart with his passing and very controlled. Weaknesses: He can improve in all aspects of his game as he is only 20 Suitability: He would replace Scholes. Estimated cost: Realistically, he is available, he costs about 10 - 15 million pounds in my view.
he would cost more than that i believe :)

    Player name: Yohan Cabaye

    National team: France

    Club team: Newcastle United

    Position: Center Midfield

    Age: 26

Match scouted: France 1-1 England (11th June 2012)

Key moment: Hit a brilliant long range effort in the first half which was smartly saved by Joe Hart and then a volley in the second half which was deflected away by Danny Welbeck.

Strengths: Cabaye is a player who will sit in the center of midfield and make opportunities for his forwards to score. He is like deep-lying playmaker who has a great range of passing and great creativity which helps him to deliver the killer through ball. He is very good at setpieces and can also shoot and trouble the opposition keeper from the distance. He has a good technique and a good first touch, and most importantly is a team player and will always help out his teammates in clearing off danger. He scored Newcastle's second goal from a freekick in their 3-0 win over Manchester United in January this year.

Weaknesses: He is not the quickest on the pitch and can be beaten easily for pace by many quick players. At the same time, being around just 175cm high, he is poor in the air and could improve on that.

Suitability: United need someone who will dictate the game from midfield and create a lot of chances for the forwards from the midfield. And Cabaye fits that category. The former Lille midfielder could be a perfect and an experienced replacement for Paul Scholes, who is mostly likely to retire at the end of next season.

Estimated cost: He has impressed many clubs across Europe with his performances for Newcastle during his debut season. He has been one of their keys to success in the Premier League last season and with just one year spent at the club, it looks highly unlikely that Newcastle would let him go so easily. He is valued around £10m by his club and United will need to pay atleast around £20m-£22m to get the French international to Old Trafford.

    Re: Rasmus Elm

    Player name: Rasmus Elm

    National team: Sweden
    Club team: AZ Alkmaar

    Position: Midfielder
    Age: 24

Match scouted: Sweden vs Ukraine, 1-2, 11 June
Key moment: Not 1 particularly. Had pin-point corner crosses. Also generated the whole team single-handed. His penetrating runs, his long passing accuracy.

Strengths: Has the ability to go through the defender. A great deep-lying midfielder who can replace the ageing Carrick. Also put on a descent performance in taking corner kicks.
Weaknesses: He looks like a bit in-consistence. But he could improve that if he comes to Old Trafford given the coaching skills and training methods we have.

Suitability: United currently needs someone who can put in pin-point crosses from set-pieces. He took all the corner kicks for Sweden. He can similarly provide crosses in free-kicks. Also him being deep-lying and having a good accuracy, he can provide long-passes to wings.
Estimated cost: Will come real cheap given that he signed 4-yr contract in August, 2009. Hence his contract would expire in the next June. So I'd say 16m for Kagawa so 10m for Elm...

Re: ManUtd.com: Your Euro 2012 Scouting Reports

Scouting Report Player name: Mathieu Debuchy

    National team: France

    Club team: Lille

    Position: Right Back

    Age: 26 years old (28-07-1985)

Match scouted: France 1-1 England (11/06/2012)

Key moment: There wasn’t one defining moment that made me say “wow,” but it was his overall display that made me take notice of the good work he did. He was a constant danger in attack and gave Ashley Cole a headache by linking up well with France’s right winger (Ribery and Nasri shared that role)

Strengths: Debuchy is a very good passer of the ball – he had a 90% pass completion rate against England. He generally keeps his passes short and sharp and that seems to work very well for him. He is very good offensively and combines well with his right winger in order to create an overlap. Once he’s done that, he’s a very good crosser of the ball and delivered some very dangerous crosses. He has a strong physique and he’s very strong in the tackle. He’s competent in the air.

Weaknesses: He commits a lot of fouls and it seems as though is susceptible to the odd card. On the odd occasions, he’s prone to over-committing himself in attack which means that his side are vulnerable in defence.

Suitability: Debuchy plays as a right back. We tried numerous options there last season (Smalling, Jones, Rafael) but nobody made the position their own. Debuchy would come in and do just that – he’d make the right back position his own. Right now, he’s a superior player to Rafael and it would seem that Smalling and Jones are destined to play in the centre of defence. That means that it would be wise to bring in a right back as competition for Rafael (who is still maturing as a footballer and learning his game). Debuchy would fit in well with the rigours of English football as he seems to enjoy the physical battle.

Estimated cost: Debuchy is available and it seems as though he’s likely to leave Lille this summer. He would definitely consider a move to Old Trafford if we showed interest. A fee of between £7 million and £10 million would probably get him. I’d definitely like to see him wearing the vacant #2 jersey next season!

Re: ManUtd.com: Your Euro 2012 Scouting Reports

Player name: Jordi Alba National team: Spain Club team: Valencia Position: Left Back Age: 23 Match scouted: Spain Vs Italy, 1-1, 10/6/12 Key moment: His shooting runs up the wing created threats to the Italian defense many times during the game and created pressure down the wing. Many good tackles up and down the field. Strengths: He is very fast and has a lot of speed. He has a lot of endurance sprinting up and down the field. He has good vision in finding other people to pass to. He keeps concentration while attacking and defending and is very quick in reacting to different situations. Weaknesses: He could try to focus more on the defensive aspects of the games and improve his movement such as when Jockeying. He could improve his positioning when trying to block crosses or shots. Suitability: He can play as a left back of a left midfielder, although he does prefer being a left back. He could be a suitable future replacement for Patrice Evra once Evra calls it a day because I know Evra will not be able to run up and down the field for United forever. Estimated cost: Realistically, is he available, and for how much? He is available but Barcelona FC are eyeing him and he could be their replacement for Eric Abidal. But there is no official deal yet so if United are willing to pay for him he could be a very good buy. Realistically he would cost 20-30 million Euros but I think he would be a fantastic buy for United and he would be worth the 20-30 million euros we pay for him.

Player name: Abdi Rami National team: France Club team: Valencia Position: Centre Back Age: 23 Match scouted: France 1 - 1 England Key moment: A few distinct tackles to break down englands attacks Strengths: Strength, Aerial Ability. Weaknesses: Looked vunerable to Danny Welbeck's speed but could quickly be changed to adapt game. Suitability: He could be a great addition to our squad. With ferdinand ageing and Vidic also getting older, we need new cenral defenders. He has played very good for Valencia and obviously has a lot of raw talent. Estimated cost: Based on Euro performance could be anything from 10-20 million pounds.

    Player name: Mathieu Debuchy

    National team: France

    Club team: LOSC Lille

    Position: Right-Back

    Age: 26

Match scouted: France 1-1 England (11th June 2012)

Key moment: Made the overlapping runs on the right hand side and kept Alex Oxlade Chamberlain at bay throughout the game. Also won the freekick that resulted to the Joe Hart save in the first half from Alou Diarra's powerful header.

Strengths: One of the best right backs playing the French League. Debuchy has great stamina, acceleration and pace in him which helps him make those overlapping runs that a fullbacks make to cause trouble to opposition defence. Has a very high work rate and always tracks back to his position quickly when the opposition are on the attack. He is also very sound defensively as he kept England's left midfielders (Chamberlain and later Young) at bay throughout and didnt give them any chance to threat the French goal. Is also very versatile and could also play on right side of the midfield.

Weaknesses: Its not very physical and so could be beaten for strength by the strong wingers. Is also not very good in the air and could improve on his heading and his first touch.

Suitability: With Rafael being inconsistent and a bit inexperienced and we having play the likes of Smalling and Jones out of position at right-back, Debuchy could be a perfect experienced right-back for a club like Manchester United. He would straight away make the first team of any Premier League club and would surely be good addition to the club.

Estimated cost: He is expected to leave Lille for a bigger European club this summer, even though he extended his contract in March this year. He is valued around £8m by his French club and has been linked with the likes of Newcastle, Roma and many more European clubs this summer. It would take United a maximum of around £12-15m to bring the French international to Old Trafford.

Scouting Report Player name: Mario Mandzukic National team: Croatia Club team: VfL Wolfsburg Position: Centre Forward Age: 26 Match scouted: Croatia vs Rep. Of Ireland Key moment: Scoring 2 goals in a game where he ran tirelessly for the time he was on the pitch Strengths: Heading ability, strength, tenacity, good work rate Weaknesses: Lacks any real pace Suitability: He has a reasonably good goal scoring record. He would be perfectly suited as a strong player who holds up the ball well and can score headers. His work rate would be suited if he comes on as a substitute In an effort to break up player and pressurise. Maybe not a starting player but would be a decent sub. Estimated cost: He could come at a cheap price, possibly between 8-12 Million.
