    Re: Utd Should Get Debuchy?

I think Debuchy would be a great signing for us.Been impressed with him at the Euros.Another LB like Baines aswell would be good too.

    Re: Utd Should Get Debuchy?

We don't need him and I guarantee you Rafael will be 1st choice next season, hardly makes sense to offer a player a new contract if he is not in your plans, and even if he is a squad player I would imagine that this deal has boosted his wages which if Sir Alex now valued him less than he had beforehand then surely he would not give such a bonus. Then again perhaps he would but I'm still relatively certain we will not be getting a new 1st choice rb, if we were to sign someone like Clyne to increase squad depth then that's a possibilty but I believe that the DaSilvas are still thought of as our future 1st choice full backs (current in the case of Rafa) by Sir Alex.

That is why I believe he was after an experienced full back in the form of Leighton Baines rather than someone young such as Willems. He simply wants someone to fill in in the year or 2 it may take Fabio to find his feet, why do you think the no. 2 has been kept vacant? So the DaSilvas can take the nos 2 and 3 (after Evra leaves). Debuchy is a very good rb but unless we were to sign him to play the left back slot then he will not be coming here.

On the subject of full backs, since Baines is being completely overpriced by Everton, who do you think we should get, btw I am not talking about potential like Willems, I'm talking about already fulfilled ability, Aly Cissokho is probably the youngest player of such ability though he may grow annoyed in the future that Fabio will be preferred to him so really I think an experienced full back of the age of 26 or more is who we should be looking at, options are pretty limitted in that age group unfortunately, any suggestions?

Interesting thought, all fullbacks should be able to play left and right side. Ok have a natural side but come on, £...... a week, training every day to be a better player, they should be able to use both feet comfortably and be strong on both sides.

With Sir alex obviously not feeling Rafael is ready to be utds first choice rb and most fans unsure of rafaels defensive abilities, plus the fact smalling and jones have both been played out of position at rb, i think Debuchy would be a great buy and really fit in well at utd can get forward really well as he shown against england (possibly motm) but can also defend really well. alot of talk about baines coming in at lb, but for me evra is still better than baines so it would be a waste of 15m for a guy to sit on the bench also dont see baines or evra being happy not be regulars so his signing would cause more problems than benefits.

Rafael is young and he seems like the sort of player who will learn from his mistakes. Our team is young and obviously they have to learn, I am sure the staff and senior players will make sure they do.

But I think that Debuchy would be a quality signing and would be great to have in the squad but there's better players we can look at before hand.

In my opinion, we should sign a full back with the capablitliy of playing, both left and right back in order to rotate with Evra and Rafael.
    LOVE YOU SIR ALEX!!

United haven't had a great right fullback since Gary Neville (except his last two seasons). Rafael is a wingback at the moment 'cause he's no use as a classic fullback. Debuchy is good, he'd proved it in Ligue 1 with Lille and now with France in Euro 2012. We need to get him and I think he would cost a lot. Arsenal and Newcastle are after him but I'm sure United could win that race. I think he values winning, playing and chamions league. Arsenal can't asure him that they will play in the champions league and newcastle will give him europa league at most. United will competing for every title and I think that's what Debuchy wants. He want to play at the highest level. Get Debuchy now!

Another player whose having a solid tournament, France look pretty average going forward it has to be said but quite a bit of their spark and attacking play has come down that Right side from Debuchy, he's very direct and has bags of energy, he's got plenty of good defensive qualities too but atm I think other areas of the team need addressing more. Rafael is doing well at present and has a good understanding with Valencia, the question that will determine whether Debuchy is even a consideration is where Smalling and Jones are intended to be played next season, if both of those guys are going to be continued being rotated at FB I can't see us bothering tbh

Good player but I don't think we need him. If we were to sign a new rb I would much prefer to sign potential such as with Clyne. Rafael, Jones, Smalling and Valencia is good enough for me talent wise, it's just a bit thin selection wise is all.

We should sign him and play him on the left, so we can all yell "Pass to Debuchy on the left hand side"

Some good points there but i think we need to address midfield and left back first id love to see strootman at UTD not too keen on modric hes good but its alot of money when strootman is rated around £18m mark i think (dont quote me on that) as for left back the only player i can see SAF getting is Baines dont want a youngster coming in when we have Da silva who is a great prospect, he just needs experiance and games,
I think Stoortman's buyout is less then £18 million mate, im sure its be quoted around 14 million and that may even be in euro's so not bad at all
