Re: footballers amongst us,what injurys have you had??

    Sir Kones:
    FerrariPhilMUFC:
Ruptured my left ACL 2 years ago this July. Still not back playing football yet. Hit a snag in my recovery and it was delayed by 4 months. Still have a bit of rehab and strenghthening to do. Hoping I will be back playing in the next month or so. Can't wait.
I'm almost 8 months since my surgery, still a long way to go til I'll be playing again. Good luck! Can I ask what your snag was? My recovery has been slow from the start - my stiffness is way higher than average, I still can't get full flex sometimes.
The snag I had was a suspected rupturing of my new graft. I had to get another MRI scan on the knee to investigate, it turned out just to be normal pain and there was no retear. But the process of stopping physio incase of a retear and waiting for the MRI scan dragged on 4 months. My early recovery was very quick and I gained my full flex very quickly, getting back to where I want to be now, just need a bit more strength and to get my confidence back. Thanks, good luck to you too!

I broke my fib and tib,got 3 pins and plate to put it back together( in a challenge with goalkeeper)and broke my wrist, got pins and wires to put that back( landed wrong) broke my finger and got 2 pins in that ( caught it in a players jersey)and also broke ribs and my ankle a couple of times, but only got a cast for this, I found that within the last 3 years I got operations every time I had a break, maybe the breaks warranted surgery but I think hos are leaning towards the knife to easy!!!

I've been really lucky on the injury front. I've sprained both my ankles, one from a bad challenge from behind on me and one from putting my foot in front of abreally hard shot. I play up front.

when i was 18 i had just got in to a 2nd division team just start of summer. during a traning game i just fell doen and had an knee injuree (ligament). had an operation but i gave up doin the football thing as i didnt wanna have more injury`s.as football was just a side thing i did and my studys seemed a more secure future. but i play a game now and than. it was a pity , i never olayed a game on 2nd div, it would have been awsome, my best skills were dribbling ,vision and passing. maybe when i have a son i teach him from a young age to train i didnt start before i was 16 training in a team.

Tore right knee ACL and meniscus. Same injury to left leg but no need to operate as right leg had to be. Had by nose broken and lower back injured while defending.

but the one that hurt the most was a displaced kneecap, ooh it stung a bit, didnt realise what had happened until i looked down and saw my kneecap above my shinbone, lol,,,you got any good uns lads??
Dislocated kneecap when playing football.I didnt realise it at first, but I looked and my left kneecap was out of its groove all out to the left.I freaked out but thankfully it went back to its place when I moved it.I have dislocated it again 3 times so I stopped playing football which is very difficult for anyone who loves the game.

I didnt have any other serious injuries, just a sprained ankle, but nothing serious.

oooooh,my god i shudder when i think back to that freezing cold day, mine didnt go back in and was given morphine,ha,nice head on off that tho...

Firstly, I feel compelled to clarify - whilst I play football, I am by no means a footballer! (Hatchet, maybe, footballer no). As for injuries - three broken fingers (not all at once!); Spondylolysis (Lower Back Stress Fracture - I'll always have that now); pulled hamstring; and a few muscle tears and ankle sprains along the way too. still playing though. grrrr.
