Re: sorry, but nick powell is average

    Sir Kones:
Oxlade-Chamberlain might be the closest comparison of similar experience coming in and playing well in the PL, but Ox played his ball in the Championship, two tiers higher than Powell.
    Ox played in League one

6 million for a league 2 player is a bit expensive.
really? it said 4 million... anyway heres a question to u... would u pay 6mill for Oxlade chamberlain if u knew if he is that good?? i say yes.. even 8mil....
Ha, we are thinking somewhat alike, see my post below (where I was talking to you anyway) to see my thoughts on the Ox comparison. All in all though, I don't think the price was too high, as I stated in a previous post.

i cant help but feel we needed someone with more exprience up there rooney is the only exprienced forward we have when berba who wouldnt get any games leaves. all top teams have several players with expreince up there. chelsea, city ,real, bayern.... if rooney gets injured as it has happened before , we wont have any replacment there. its an issue fergie needs to address this summer, if he wants to win something this year. we are after all in 4 competitions and rooney cant play in all and be fresh...
really?? experience? hmm.. well Demba ba and pappi cisse did extremely well upfront but then they are not too experience..,
I honestly appreciate your positivity and see what point you're trying to make. Ba and Cisse aren't really valid comparisons though.

Ba came to the Premier League with 4 more seasons of pro experience than Powell has, with 3 straight in the German top flight. Cisse has 7 more seasons of pro experience than Powell, and spent 5 seasons playing in top tier european leagues (2 in france, 3 straight in Germany before his PL move).

So both of them have boatloads more experience than Powell, really. But, like I said, not trying to break b.all.s, just pointing out the facts.

Oxlade-Chamberlain might be the closest comparison of similar experience coming in and playing well in the PL, but Ox played his ball in the Championship, two tiers higher than Powell.

Well, I'm in abit of a dilemma here over Nick Powell's quality!!! who do I trust? SAF or Gangster,,eemmm hard one' " oh well i will trust Gangster, he seems to know his stuff, after all he has watched Powell on utube!!!
btw we all trust Fergie, but the thing is that Fergie is no God,he can be wrong. I dont say he has made the wrong decision but we could have used these qouted 4-8m more productively. I have tried to watch him as much as i can but he seems to lack creativity and skill.just an opinion, not a fact.
How much more productive can you really be with 4-8 million than buying a highly touted youth player? You gotta step up and take the chance when you have it. If we didn't go for him now, guarantee some other Premier Club would have, and if he turns out to be a good player, someone would have ended up paying double for him in a season or two's time. See the bigger picture.

If Arsenal or City had taken him, there would be threads slating Gill for being slow on the transfer market. And Powell would be the best thing after sliced bread. Now we got him, he is average. If he plays some good games, everybody will be saying I knew he was going to be a great player.

I have hopes for him because we have scouted him for a long time, unlike Bebe and Obertan who were risky buys.Powell obviously impressed the scouts so we bought him.And Fergie being delighted to sign him is an indication that he is a good player. He was also challenged by Fergie to do what Ronaldo did and be part of the first team immediately.I think Fergie rates him, so why wouldnt we?

are you awake because i swear we have just signed a guy from japan that plays the rooney role for club and country and was in double figures for goals and assistsif you had any sense you would know this and sir alex probably signed him for that reason as i believe we still have not bought our cm signing
kagawa is no forward! he is am/winger type. a good forward gets 20+ goals a season. thats the kind of player we need, with 4 cometitions. berba is leaving soon hopefullY(as he is out of favor with fergie). rooney is than the only exprienced forward here! there is a reason all big clubs have at least 2 well exprienced forwards/striker........, we used to have 4 back in the day. danny w. is not an 20+ goal scorer type of player either now nor in future(he is a good player with a lot of movmemnts).
Kagawa has already said publicly since his transfer his best position is in the hole and stated he will be trying as hard as he can to be selected for that position....

i see another bebe in the making. maybe i might be proved wrong but i think we need experience and bring him as a sub we the job has been done. plz SAF get luka modric agree that we don`t need 4-5players but there are areas where we simply need to get personnel. i still say we lost the title b/c our middle didnt contribute in terms of goals and once the opposition gets past our defence de gea was left open. little wonder our defence had more shots taken @ them and de gea pulled more saves than any other shot stopper last season. don`t think we need lewandonski/lorenthe just get a modric and btw cheik tiote, javi martinez and yahnn m`villa we are good to go. with 2 creative players i kagawa and modric henandez, welbeck and wazza will each get double figures next season. scholes and giggs are old anderson and cleverly seem jinx and Fletcher well we know his problem bottom line we still do need players in very critical areas but please not 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gangster!!:
i hope he proves me wrong,i have seen as many games of him as i can find on youtube and other sites. But apart from his cracking goals,he looks helpless when he has the ball.Sure he must have the physical ability to penetrate in the pl or Sir Alex must have spotted some sort of talent, but i am afraid that he is very, very raw. (bebe)
Not sure what you were expecting from a young man who has just turned 18, he is certainly a talent which is why the top clubs in England i.e us, City, Arsenal, Everton etc were wanting to snap him up, be grateful that he chose to join us and become part of our family.

He is very raw I agree but there is something special in him like there was Rooney and Ronaldo, he has great potential thats what matters.

6 mill here and than bebbe and diouf and that african player(cant remember his name(manu??)), the chinese one and so........ put all that money together and you can buy an decent player who can performe well.right away we buy a lot of young players but only a fraction of those make it through. (rooney and ronaldo dont count as they were record youngster buys and there was never a smallest of questions about their massive talent.) i wonder if we actually going to sign a forward this year. look at barca, not signing a forward last year cost them the title and champ leauge. villa got injured and messi was the only main goal scorer there, no ibrahomvivh ...... but i can say this now if we dont sign an exprienced forward we will not win the leauge this year!
Look out Mystic Meg is here!! You have no idea how well United will and will not do next year so save your negativity for people who give a dam! Were not Barca were United. I don't need to explain to you I hope how unlucky we were not to win the title this year without that experienced second man you keep referring to!

Another fan with zero faith in SAF... I'm not surprised one bit which is kinda sad! Blah blah!

i do have faith in him fergie. but like not signing a midfielder last year when paul was retiring, was an gamble that didnt pay off.(we didnt lose title at everton but losing 8 points in 2 weeks) and fergie likes to take an gamble during his carrier which have paid off many times in the past, but times are changing. the difference is there are clubs in premier leauge now that can spend more than us and chances of those gambles paying off gets smaller because of that. he can take an gamble on only rooney the only exprienced forward there this season and hope rooney wont get injured or gets suspended.... and hope the younglings can cover for him against teams like city and chelsea.....

No more that you have which is his point Gangster! So try and back our new players regardless and channel some of your pessimistic energy in a good way. You nor I have a clue what this lad will become and we should be proud that we still try to develop youth after all it's what this club stands for right and if you can't understand that then Sir that's your problem. SAF see's something in him so give the lad some respect and time! This forum is full of complainers with zero faith in what the club stands for which is sad really! What can you do?
