The media is going crazy about us signing Modric. The Modric saga will hot up even more after the Euros, then SAF will come out & rule out signing of Modric. Trust me. This will happen.

Anyways, Modric is the closest player to be compared with Scholes. If we want to add creativity then he's the man for the job. Next season will be Scholes's last season before he retires again. I'd love to see him here but its unlikely.

he is a quality player (may have overdone it about being close to xavi though) and he would only improve our midfield and would help us have a chance in midfield in tricky european away matches and tbh even all european matches after this year. u wanna replace scholes?? who else is there who is as good as modric in his position for under 25 mil?

It's the same for Carrick. You would think people would appreciate what he does after watching him but they just get on the train of saying he's horrible. Maybe the illegal streams they are watching are so blurry that they can't actually tell what Carrick does for the team and how important of a player he is for us.

Modric is similar in that and that is why some people don't appreciate him. I still think he is a different player than Carrick but a lot of what he does in a match can go unnoticed.

He is the one we need great work rate and although his assists aren't that high I bet there wasn't alot of spurs goals that didn't involve him

I've been so impressed with Modric's work rate in the Euros so far. He really does put in some tackles too

Well, gosh therealy, jee wizz i dont know what to say. Gosh darn it, there was no Modric thread in the first 2 pages at the time so, by golly, i said id make one

To be honest, it is..erh....getting harder and harder to believe he might actually come here. When talent like Modric becomes available, it does not go unnoticed in the world of football. I expect after the Euros, clubs like....erh.... Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester City will make their interest known/stronger and we will probably settle for Dembele, Strootman, or at worse maintain Anderson (Dembele or Strootman will not be a terrible addition). The only saving grace is that there is really no other strong interest for him at the moment, beside us. I will be glad if it remains like this after the Euros, but that is probably very...erh...unlikely. Whether Modric is the perfect player for us is debetable. I would say Wilshere, but he is unavailable. For players available this...erh...summer, he[Modric] be a great addition, but saying he will be the perfect player is sort of an understatement. As, I believe our priority should be a box to box player rather than a deep lying playmaker. Eitherway, I will still welcome Modric addition tenfold.

There are no other players out there that play in the CM that are available and world class. When i hear ppl on hear say that he's overrated, then i know they don't know much about football. The guy controls the game.

As for being over priced. Well lets put it this way - there are maybe only 5 players in the whole world that are world class and can play in 442 central midfield and he is one of them and you cannot touch the rest because they play for real, Barca and Bayern and they will not leave. If it takes £30m to get this player, then we get him

Don't get me wrong, I would like us to sign him... He's a good player... But he's not close to Xavi...... I don't like when people say he's overrated, but I don't like when people overrate him either..... He's a good player, nothing more, nothing less... At least what we've seen of him so far....

If he improves in some aspects, like assists and goals.... Then I can see him up there with the best, but not right now.... But if he is going to develop into something great, then it should be here...

i have watched him with a little more intrest during euros. he is a good player, but defensivley he just dosent contribute much. his passin out of 20 would 16-17. but i agree that he can be a little overrated by some. xavi is much better than him, even fabregas cant match xavi, and fab was arsenals best player! i think there are better options for under 30 mill around. that said i wouldnt mind him playing for us :)

Martinez would be perfect in my opinion but if we are looking for a creative midfielder in a similar mould to Scholes then there isn't many better than Modric.
