Look how much United spended on Anderson (€30 million) and who want to buy him now for that or more?

He never said that but his bodylanguage says it and he have said that he is open for a move away from old trafford..
I'm sorry but I'm not buying that, his body language has not been any different and tbh you'd be annoyed if you go from being arguably our best midfielder in 10/11 to being out of the first 11 altogether. Also please provide up to date quotes by Nani saying he wants to leave.
It's so simple to be wise; think of something stupid to say and don't say it

Well, why buy players for £30 million and let him go on a free transfer after 4-5 years? Look how much United spended on Berbatov and how much are we getting of him now? Look how much United spended on Anderson (€30 million) and who want to buy him now for that or more? I don't mind selling players for a lot more than se bought them. That gives United the money to spend on new youth. You see that some players loves to play for the club and others are there for the money and fame. Nani doesn't care for the club. He want the fame, money and glory and that is not what United are about. Modric has never said that he want to join United or that it would fulfill a dream. In August 2011 he was desperate to join Chelsea and that tells the story about him. Players like that aren't worth spending £35 million on unless we can get more after a couple of seasons. What if we buy him for that much money and then Barcelona or Real Madrid come knocking after 2 seasons and say that they want him. Then he would probably leave and they would only pay £20 million and then we've lost £15 million. That's a lot of money if you ask me. I wouldn't mind spending that much on a player that were 24 years old 'cause then we can have him 4-5 season and get the same amount or more for him but if we buy a soon to be 28 year old we'll only lose money. That is the same reason Sir Alex didn't buy Sneijder last summer.. It's better to go for a young player that want to play for the team.
i agree that we are never gonna get all transfers correct but ferdinand 30 mil has proven good and we wont sell him, and he has helped us to win trophies to get back that 30 million. rooney for 25 mil has payed off as well. i dont think that madrid or barca will want modric in a few years, look at barcas midfield and madrid dont play a modric type player, they play 2 dms with one them being a deep lying playmaker (alonso or sahin) and then oezil at the top of a triangle, whereas modric is a proper centre mid. i can obviously see the monetary advantages of buying low and developing then selling for more but i just dont like it just a personal thing, showing that supposedly the biggest club in the world is still a selling club

i agree about modric being not the best buy ever but i would prefer m'vila/martinez to witsel tbh although would not be dissapointed with him. i also think sir alex wants to make a big signing this summer though so he can reassure rooney and make sure he doesnt leave. if im correct i would hope to have schweinsteiger as that signing but more realistically sneijder.
    sign sahin and m'vil***

Witsel would bring the steel we are lacking at the moment. He's skillfull but has enough steel in him to stop players like Silva, Hazard, Modric, Van der vaart, etc. We probably doesn't need to buy a creative midfielder now when we've got Kagawa. We still have Carrick and Cleverley for a couple years to come so why pay a h*ll of a lot of money on a player that we doesn't have any resale value?

I think we should look for another year for a replacement for Scholes. Players like Christian Eriksen, Victor Fischer, James Rodriguez, etc will develope and we should really wait and see.

Daniel Levy want at least £35 million pounds for Modric. Is he really worth it? Maybe but what happens if Spurs get at lot of money to spend? They will improve their team and become a stronger force and that is not what United need. We should try to avoid spending big money on players within the same division.

i hate it when we talk about re-sale value. it makes it seem that man united is just a business of developing players just for the money rather than using the new world class players to win trophies. witsel is good but not good enough for european standards. why should we have to be able to sell our players for more when we develop them? why can't we just keep them??
