    Re: Evra, Rooney & Kagaw***

I strongly agree with you, when Rooney play at No. 10 he tends to drift too deep into defensive role. I would prefer he stay top with the support of Kagawa, Valencia and Nani. This will be a very formidable strike force in the coming season. Not forgetting Welbeck coming in with Young.....

don't know about you guys but don't you ever get frustrated with rooney? i know i do it's so annoying seeing him in midfield when he should be up front doing what he does best..... i think he's capable of 45 goals in a season personally.

I prefered Rooney playing as a striker anyway. With Nani, Valencia and Kagawa supplying him he should easily hit 35+ goals next season if he stays fit.

I kinda hope we will push Rooney up front again. To me he hasnt been as good playing the nr. 10 CAM role as when he was more of a pure striker.
I agree with you on this but i do think the signing of Kagawa will be healthy for Rooney to keep him on his toes

IMO I think that we will play Kagawa in the No. 10 and Ronney uptop playing a kind of False 9. Free flowing football here we come.
    Ronney plays for Madrid.

Or will it a case of fitting Kagawa in around Rooney?
I think it would be more of this option. I really couldn't see Rooney being dropped if he was to have a couple of bad games because he's always capable of producing something special at any moment.

Although Kagawa has come out and said he would like to play in the no.10 role, the position Rooney currently occupies for us, I think he will spend quite a bit of time on the left side of midfield. I can only see SAF playing Kagawa in the no.10 role in Champions League games or big Premier League games with Rooney being up top.

    Evra, Rooney & Kagaw***

With people suggesting various left backs as a replacement for Evra, competition with Evra or a youngster to take over from Evra, is the signing of Kagawa an indirect way of keeping Rooney on his toes.

For a good number of years now, if Rooney has been fit, he has played. There has never really been any competition for him for that "in the hole" role, could the signing of Kagawa be this competition?

Its no secret, over the last couple of years Rooney has gone through a few spells of playing quite poorly, yet often remained in the 1st team. Its always been a case of playing his way back into form. SAF was also slightly critical of him at times last season for taking his foot off the pedal.

Depending on the form of Kagawa when he does play in the hole, could it be possible that Rooney would no longer be one of the 1st names on the teamsheet?

Will Rooney need to up his game to keep his place? Or will it a case of fitting Kagawa in around Rooney?

*Not suggesting one way or another, just asking questions.
