Re: Do we have too many players that can easily get injured???

well the reason i placed vidic there is because of the serious injury he had last season and his age.(that cant look to promising)

valencia is injured in both seasons over lengthy period. now he is not injury prone but his position as winger means ofetn more injurys sustained because of the way wingers usually have to play.

as for fletcher, its not sure he can even make it back this season. and cleverly, you need to look at his last 3-4 years and see thee amount of injury he has had. broken leg, shoulder, ankle... and his last injury is the kind that can reacure again..... this the the reasons why i put them there....

so the numbers of player we cant be sure on , are more than it should be. there shouldnt be ,ore than 3-4 players that would go in that category but we have about 9 players at least compare to last season 10 player.....(owen gone).

stilli that is a big number of 23 man squad... and 4 competitions to play in. i thnk the number of risks we take due injury are higher than it should be..... but what can we do. it dosent look like we will sign more than 1 more player anyway..(and with berba leaving too)

I was just looking at the team and relized there are far too many player that seem to get out for injurys here at united.

-cleverly(had allready many injuries in a short career, from broken leg to knee and ankle..)

-rio, his back problems are well knowen

-fletcher, we are not even sure if he can play this season

-anderton, well do i need to say more about him

-twins- they bothget their fair share of it..

-vidic- out most of last seasn and his age would mean more injuries...

-valencia- now he dosent get as many as some of the other names but still was out few months out last season..

and than we have giggs and scholes who cant play more than certain amount of minutes because of their age.

are we taking a gamble again this season betting on so many players who are probley out a lot this season too??or were we just unlucky?

is there something wrong at uniteds trainig regimes that might have to do with so many players getting injured????

and if fergie knows that we are having to many injury prone players and not acting to address it, what would that mean?

Vidic, Valencia and Fletcher are bad examples, as they are not injury prone. Rio, Giggs and Scholes are known problem, with age a dominant factor, and Fergi decided to keep them instead of replacing them with young and fit players. Cleverley is still an unknown as this is only his 1st season. The only injury prone players are just Anderson, Twins, Owen and Hargreaves. We have got rid of the 2 Owen, plus one of the Twins. I put the blame on backroom staff who should have helped the Twins and Ando to adapt to EPL game but somehow only beginning to address it last season, which works on the Twins but still failed on Ando. Fergi is probably 1-2 seasons too late to act including Hargreave's replacement

Injuries are a part of the game. I think and hope last year was a one off as far as injuries. Did you ever stop to think maybe the opposition could be blamed for some of the injuries?

one thing is certain. we got one less injury prone player this year. owen . so far 4 players have left. and 2 came in. kagawa and powel. and berba might leave too. (and a question mark about nani) injuries could happen because of opposition too like cleverlys last injury. but he allready had a list of serious injuries before that one. anderson?twins? fletcher? rio? vidic? how much of that can be blamed on opposition? only one of those players injury from last season can be blamed on opposition. but thats not the point. i am just hoping we wont be plagued by injurys again this year. i guess the medicall staff at united should know the answeer to that better about how big is the chance with injuryis on the llikes og anderson and rio..... it just seems the number of player getting frequentlig injured higher than it should be...

We need a big squad to combat all injuries to players..........Reserves should also be ready to move up, to areas where we have long term injuries........LIke all big Clubs
How big of a squad do you think would have been needed to combat Uniteds injury list last season?

All of them are impact injuries from bad, reckless challenges. He's not injury-prone like Anderson. Cleverley even said this himself and hates having the injury-prone tag.

i hope you are right about that but i woulnt hold my breath.

One injury does not mean that one player is injury-prone. Wait until they get more injuries other than impact injuries.

its just vidics age and the injury that he had last year, i hope he can bounce back!

as for valencia , the style of he playes on the wing would put him in more chances to get injurys. which is why a lot of wingers get injured. it wouldnt surprise me if he was 2-3 minths out again this season which is why its good to have nani who can cover.....

United have suffered with injuries going back several years...it really isnt a new thing, the players you mentioned though really go through the mill with injuries and it is a worry. For me the da silva twins are the worst... i rem one game when one went off injured and his twin came on, then the second twin went off injured aswell !!. I would like more cover at the back for rio and vida, ive never really rated evans and think jones and smalling are still too inexperienced for the really big games.
