Madrid really do not need Modric and it would be nothing but a show of muscle in my opinion. I'm not entirely convinced we were ever in for him either. With SAF moulding Powell into that cm player, and ando seemingly coming back with no fresh injury worries, it would seem we are simply not in the market for a cm player. Right or wrong, that's something the boss will have to live with AGAIN if the mid falls short of expectation next year as it did so miserably in the previous campaign.

Do not want this overrated mercenary rat any where near United.

if Modric does indeed goto Madrid it shows what his true interest's are and that is money! There is no way he'll be a consistent starter for that team, there are at least 4 other mids already on that squad that are leaps and bounds better than Modric ever thought of being and they can actually score goals as well. Sniejder NO THANKYOU!!! Why is it allot of you are so desperate to bring in players who will destroy our wage structure and that are also past their best? is it simply to say that they play for us? I'd rather lock up Moutino and Moura than even waste a second on the other 2 mentioned!

Given his ability, Luka Modric has been one of the lowest paid players in the Premier League in recent years, thats why teams are offering to double his wages. He is anything but a mercenary and he actually wouldnt come close to destroying our wage structure. Lets face it, Real Madrid have got masses of history, tradition, an unbelievable array of talent to choose from and a pulling power that is unrivalled throughout world football. They dont only offer Modric a chance to improve himself but they offer him the lifestyle and climate to go with it....

Yeah why go to Madrid when he can go for rain sodden Manchester...That said, i would still love to see him become a United player.

I just find it ridiculous that you think if a player chooses Madrid before United that he is motivated by money. If Modric goes to Madrid he may not play every week because Madrid dont actually NEED him whereas United do. If he goes to Madrid his challenge will be to earn a regular place competing against many other top midfielders targeting the same places. If he goes to United he will be a main feature of the team and i suspect will play on a more regular basis.

Those wage demands were truly disgusting. £170 k is what we offered him, on average it takes someone 6 years to make that, and they don't even have that in 1 large sum.
