Evra is one of the best left backs in world football why should we sell him,if he needed competition then SAF wouldn't have let fabio go out on loan.Baines for me is not utd class in any stretch of the imagination to sign a 27 for 15 million just to keep Evra on his toes is laughable.Evra has at least got another three seasons at the top of his game, before you could even think of replacing him.

Rose tinted specs much? Evra's fall from grace has been staggering since the World Cup. He was even more of a liablity in our defence than Rafael last season. A large majority of the goals we conceded last year came from his side of the pitch and can be traced back to his slack, and sometimes absent, defending. Baines was miles better than him last season.

Clichy has overtaken him for France, and given how mediocre Clichy is that is a very damning statement of Evra's current form.
Anyone with any football knowledge can see the reason why Evra has been getting caught out of position in the past couple of years and the reason because of a left footed winger isn't a bit suspicious since Giggs stopped playing in that position the problems for Evra started.Evra has to overlap Nani or Young in many games so he can get to the bye line,to whip a cross with his left foot,if the attack breaks down, teams find that position easier to attack as the left back is out of position.Baines plays for Everton who play compact football, their first priority is not to get beat, the guy cant even realistically challenge Ashley Cole for the England jersey, yet you think he is good enough to play for us.Do you see Man city,Chelsea,Milan,Barca,Real after Baines, Exactly. His level is Everton's,Stokes and Wigan's of this world

Baines, Fuchs or Alaba. Best 3 options for us right now imo.
Criscito is a good option as well.... and remember Michel Bastos plays LB for brazilian national team so maybe he could also be considered.
Nemanja Vidic sleeps with the lights on

Of those Alaba would be my choice due to his talent and young age. Trouble is I don't see him leaving Bayern. Fuchs is ok but not great, Baines much the same. Marcel Schmelzer of BVB is good and I really rate Davide Santon. I think he's very versatile and has good defensive abilities- better than Evra's anyway.

As much as I want Darwin to be right I'm afraid I must agree with you. Evra's defending has become increasingly inept and at times responsible for conceding goals. It's difficult because there aren't many available lbs. Baines is seen as an option as he'd be at his best for 3 years by which tie the highly talented Tyler Blackett would be ready to take over, or Fryers should he stay.

    im the man:
Evra: sell or hold on? He's been left out again by Blanc which is quite the statement. I think he is suffering from a couple of long seasons and emotional turmoil but he is no spring chicken either. I like him very much as a player but he is showing weaknesses that can't be ignored. If we could get a good price and replacement I would say sell now. Alternatively keep him around till he retires with a bit part role. Either way I think our LB position needs looking at.
    he's been kept end of!

Ahhh. Oh let's sell him then sign two left backs! Why should we sell him? It makes no sense to be honest.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death I assure you it's much more serious than that

Re: Evra: sell or hold on?

We should keep him for at least 2 more years. He's still is one of the best left backs in the world. Last year it was a harsh time for him. He saw his brother die & it was a big shock for him. He's still recovering from that trauma. In the last few matches of the season he was recovering his lost form. & I hope he is fully equipped. Anyways , we need another left back this summer to compete with Evra. Fabio will be loaned out & we still dont know whether Zeki will sign a contract extension or not. If he extends his contract he'll be loaned out. That leaves Evra alone & if he's injured we'll struggle a bit.

Keep Evra, without a doubt, he may not have had the best of seasons but he will be better next season and he is totally dedicated to united, always gives 100%, he is still one of the best LB in the premiership.

Keep him but he does need some good competition thats why we should sign Baines.I know Evra hasnt had that best of seasons form wise but he is still 1 of the best left backs in the world.
I think it's a well worn myth that he needs competition. He needs a break more than anything, his style of play hasn't really changed he's always been prone to getting caught up the pitch, I think he just lost a yard of pace.
Yep i agree thats why we should sign Baines he would provide that in abundance.
