look the fact of the matter is if any united fan in the world were asked would we swap carrick for de rossi 99.9% would do so in a heartbeat how i gage if a player is top quality is how many top club teams would he fit into in the world and when you do so with carrick the answer is 0

But dont understimate what a great player he is. he would be the closest we could get to having a roy keane back in our team. he is solid defensively but also drives the team forward. you could also play him alongside carrick. theis would be very effective in a 4-2-3-1. there arent many players ild want more at utd than De Rossi ok yes he did dive yesterday, but Rooney, young and nani have all done it for us in the last season. Im not saying its ok but to dismiss a player on that is silly.

Hes as good as Busquets. Every day of the week he is. Pirlo and De Rossi are different players entirely with separate skill sets. Only on talking Reds will you find United fans that go out of their way time and again bash its most important players.

Don't like to join in the argument but Carrick is no where near Busquets. Busquets along with Mascherano are two of the best holding midfielders in the world, but Busquets can also step up and link play. Carrick played his best football when he was in a more advanced role, playing in a more defensive position he's lost a lot of his game.

And that`s what we need. A world class player or players. We must compete in Europe this year. Last year was a disaster in Europe.

Anyone who has watched foreign league football will know that diving and cheating is very much part of their football culture. To slot in to defence out of position against world and European champions and still look class is most definitely only possible by true world class players. De Rossi is in the top 5 midfielders in the world and I would welcome him at Old Trafford any day of the week. If Carrick were foreign he would not get as much stick and better still, if he were playing abroad he would be twice the player and highly regarded. I may be alone, but for me Carrick offers something rarely encouraged in the English game - culture.

This is retarded. De Rossi is superior in terms of tackling, positioning, passing and offensively much better than carrick. He's also a lot stronger, more determined and can play both roles in terms of being an anchor man or being a box to box midfielder. And this is someone who is a big fan of carrick, but you have to be honest, you don't have clue. Carrick is a good midifelder, while De Rossi is a world class one.

Very very true mate. Carrick has been subject to so much un warranted stick off our so called loyal fans, and never gets the praise he deserves - even when he scores people on here find a reason to critisise ffs, the guy can't win.
