Re: Rodriguez signing realistic. But what about Modric?

Can only see us signing Rodriguez if Nani leaves, which is looking likely imo given we were in for Hazard.

As for Modric, im sure we will be interested but his price will remain the huge stumbling block.

Thats true about Modric.I would offer Spurs 26million rising to 30million based on success and apperences.I would keep Nani and still sign Rodriguez that would be good.
I like your ambition but just feel there are more important matters to deal with. An lb is absolutely compulsory, simple as that. A box to box midfielder completes our midfield and resolves issues. Those are more important than Rodriguez and if it's true that a £30 million bid has been rejected there's more chance of Gary Neville kissing the Liverpool badge than Rodriguez coming here.
It's so simple to be wise; think of something stupid to say and don't say it

We'd have far too many players for four attacking options, not only that but most of the players are relatively young and need game time to improve, I doubt the likes of Rodriguez, Nani, Young will be happy sitting on the bench. Cannot see it tbh.

With Owen already gone and Berbatov very likely to follow him as he has no future here i think Rodrguez could be used as a winger. He can battle with Young on the left wing with Nani and Valencia battling it out on the right.

Re: Rodriguez signing realistic. But what about Modric?

If, we would be paying more than £30M to get Rodriguez it's unlikely we will be offering £30M+ that Spurs want for Modric.

Out of the two, right now the team needs Modric much more.

We would only need Rodriguez if SAF already knows that Nani is not staying.

Meh for me he will always be signed as a striker if he is. Might be a winger if Nani goes.
He has a lot of talent he does things that can't be taught

They say united had 30 million bid rejected for Rodriguez & are going to increse it :| who is this guy & what wing does he play on ??
Rodriguez can play on either wing in the middle or behind the strikers so he is very verstille.I can see him being Giggs's long term replacement and our future number 7 if we can sign him.Theres something special about him.

Re: Rodriguez signing realistic. But what about Modric?

Its not all about the transfer fee, though. Maybe Modric doesn't want to come to Utd, or other rival teams have offered him better wages. Unfortunately, its not just about the price we offer.

Rodriguez signing realistic. But what about Modric?

If today's rumours have some truth about them (United to increase offer of Rodriguez) I reckon we will buy him. He wants to come to United too, right. But do you guys think are we out of the transfer battle for Modric? If James Rodriguez is going to be 30+ mill, it seems unlikely that United will splash the same amount of money on another player, regardless of how good he is. Truthfully, I think Modric is needed more than Rodriguez.

If we can get both, or one of them with another similar player, our midfield will be sorted.
