We all know that Twitter is full of rubbish but i do hope we sign Baines. Its been said that we want to sign Baines before we jet off on our Summer Tour.I think we can get Baines for around 15million even though Everton are holding out for more but i think they know they wont get that much.15Million is a fair enough bid and i think Baines would want t come here and play in the champions league.

Baines is a slightly above average defender nothing more he's nearly 28. Failed to make the international team all be it behind cole, but we're united we need solid first team regulars for there national teams end of.Rather bring in one of the young lads and mould them into the positions as they would offer more in the future.

I dont think his performances were that bad before the suarez situation also please dont forget his sister died. how would u feel if a close member of your family fied? would u just csrry on in ur job like nothin has happened? Having to deal with that is bad enough and then the suarez situation came aling which he freely admitted at the end of the season affected his form a little. he admis himself it wasnt one of his best seadon for united. to be hinest it's difficult to temember specific mstches but i don remember especiallybtowards the end ofvthe season after a few matches we were saying evra olayed really well today. Why dont u point out to me the games where he cost us goals cos i find it difficult to remember? Alsi u cannot compare evra eith robson or keane, he is french, frencman are typically allof and a very different mentality to the british. he's never goibg to be the type to charge about and rant and rave at people, hevwould b the type to just lead by example with his performances on the pitch. hes not a had been, he's 31 which isnt too old for a defender. also in feb2011 his form was so good that fergie gave him a new 4 year contract so he obviously saw him as still the libg term left back. do u think that after avfew bad games he will just get rid? good managers dont panic ljke that. the poibt u make is for you a left back is a priority. well thats a good job cos im sure left back is not a priority for the manager, so get used to seeing evra marauding doen the left for a fewcseadons yet and while im cheering him in u sit there stewing slating him boring urself lol

Im sorry i disagree with you. i think last season around all the suarez situation i take your point he struggled defensively but if you take that situation into context u can see why his form dipped with all the pressure and hype surrounding that and suarez's court cade. also you probsbly dont know he went through a bad time as well cos i tuink it was his sister or brother died around that time and he didnt release it to the media he just got on with his job. going pastbthose events actually for the ladt couple of months i tjink he started to recover his best form and had a good end of the season. next year he will b able to put events off the field behind him and hopefully csrry on ftom where he left off at the end ofvthe season. for u to call him an embarrasement to the united shirt is a low, cheap, dispiccable comment. He has sweated blood forvthe united course, he cares passionately for man united and the fans. He's been a great foreign signing for us we've won loads of trophies with him in the team he rarely gets injured he considtently plays loads of games a seadon. Get off his back and support a great servant to united who i guarantee will not be replaced by ferguson for this season i will bet with u any ammount of money.
I dont buy the Suarez situation as an excuse for his poor performances, they started long before that.

Its my opinion that some of his performances were embarrassing as captain of this football club because i never saw Keane, Robson etc found wanting the amount of times Evra did last season. A captain is also a leader but when has Evra ever led United? At what point did he come off the pitch last season and you thought "wow, that was a fantastic performance from our captain"?.

Like you say he "HAS BEEN" a great servant, and that's exactly what he is now a "HAS BEEN". He shouldnt be in the team on sentiment.

Just have a trawl back over last season and see how many goals he cost United, there were many instances so for me a left back is a priority.

The main reason he won't comevto united is he won't be first choice. he won't want to play second fiddle to evra. Baines is too good to not be playing much and at 28 he's coming into the best years of his career so he won't want to spend them not playing much football. everton will want too much money, there's no way the glazers will sanction around 15-20millikn quid for a number 2 left back. we have one of the best left backs in the world so fergie isnt goingbto replace evra there's no need, he's quality, fergie made him captain in vidas absence he loves evra. if we wany to sign a left back were more likely to sign a younger cheaper option someone who will know he's initially coming in as back up to evra, probably someone we dont know much about like siqueira of granada or oviedo of copenhagen.
Mate he wouldnt be second fiddle to Evra, he'd replace Evra!!.

Evra WAS one of the best left backs but not anymore, hasnt been for a long time and if you still think he is then your in cloud cuckoo land. He cant defend, he's constantly caught out of position and he doesnt even get any assists now in the attacking third and that used to be the best part of his game. Some of the performances he has dished up as captain of this football club have been embarrassing. He's never a captain in the memory of man imo.

The Patrice Evra we have now is miles away from the Evra we had 2 or 3 years ago and United have had the best out of him. Any new left back that comes in will be a replacement for Evra, not an understudy.

To clarify, I was not impressed by willems either. But there has bin a rumour for willems and one for baines and out of those 2 I would say willems is more likely due to age, potential and the ingredients of a recent utd signing.

Just an update on this, its been confirmed as b0ll0cks, it was started by a guy claiming he has a mate in the reserves who saw Baines at Carrington, he was too thick to realise the reserves aren't even back in training yet.....however another very reliable guy on twitter (@intheknow99 frequently breaks big transfer news first, 100% reliability to my knowledge) has said they are in talks for Baines and it is expected to happen....the thing with Twitter is there is so much bull, you just have to trawl through the lies and you will occasionally find genuine news breaking days before Sky Sports News.
some trawllin there mate!!! very true though...

Not much to explain taz, but I really really don't think he's comin to OT. There are many reasons, he ent that good bein 1, then there's price, everton want 20m which is at least double what hes worth, then theres age only 4yrs younger than evra. I be extremely suprised if he ends up at UTD. I give more credence to the jetro willems rumours as I would view that as a more realistic signing given recent history. Also he's cheaper yet starts for Holland and has boundless potential where baines is a sub for England and is as good as he's ever gona b. Obviously I don't know for certain, who does, but really don't think I b eating my words.
He aint that good? Compared to who?

The way i look at it is Baines can actually defend. United have lost so many goals down that side of the pitch because of Evra's poor positional play, it really needs to be rectified. We wouldnt be waiting for a maturity and consistency in his performances, his age and experience would see to that.

You say Everton want £20m for him but in all fairness you nor i nor anyone else have any idea how much Everton have quoted United, its a figure being bandied about in the media and its all guess work truth be told. You think he's worth £10m, you are probably not that far away with that valuation but i'd give another couple of million with add ons..

Jetro Willems looked suspect to me, really suspect. Athough he's cheaper and starts for Holland, just remember Holland were home on the first plane because their defence was terrible. Baines is a sub for England because arguably the best left back in world football is in front of him. Doesnt mean he's a bad player.

Take Carrick for example, he cant get in the England team either but England were crying out for someone like him at the Euros.

If Baines plays with better players, he'll improve imo.
