    Re: Has Pogba Left?

    lucautd:
I know there as been loads of Pogba threads in the past, and i know alot of fan's will claim they are not bothered if Pofba goes etc, he is ungreatful, doesn't love utd enough blah blah blah, but fact is the kid is class and if he was staying and all this contract mess didn't happen those same fans would be hailing him as the next best thing, claiming he is utds vieira so just becasue he leaves/may utd doesnt change the fact the kids got huge huge potential, so simple question is, does any one know if he is staying or going? I heard that he had signed for juve and it would be officially confirmed when his utd contract ended which was on the 1st of july yesterday, but still no confirmation either way? So im left wondering whats happening, i for 1 hope the kid stays at utd and signs a new contract, as our midfield is in need of a pogba type player. Thoughts please? If your sick of seeing pogba threads you shouldn't be reading this so no need for the same old boring comments, the name of the thread tells you its about pogba just dont read simple. Rant over
There has been no official confirmation yet that Paul Pogba has left us. Although I feel a transfer to Juventus is imminent.

I hope he stays here but i think he has joined Juventus all shall be revealed soon i hope.
Yep i think you are right i hope your not but i did think the juve deal was all tied up, and was just waiting for it to be confirmed yesterday but no news is obviously good news, lets hope he stays, then our midfield would already look aloy better next season with kagawa and powell also coming in and pogba staying..
Lets wait and see.Even if Pogba stayed do you guys think we need another CM?
Yeah i still personally think we would need one more cm, as i see kagawa playing just behind the main striker, i would love modric or moutinho but can't see us getting either, if pogba leaves i feel we need 2 centre mids a ball winner (which pogba could be, and some) plus a modric type. Im not too sure if we will even sign any one else im hearing the likes of tunnicliffe petrucci brady m.keane will all be given first team football, which makes me think we may of finished in the transfer window hope im wrong, just wish fergie would of given pogba more first team chances last season and i really dont think this current situation would of ever happened, pogba would of signed months ago, and he is a miles better player than all the other young centre mids i just mentioned, i have watched them all in the youth and reserves for many years, not just basing this on hype.
Pogba is not miles ahead of Petrucci, in fact based on skill alone I would argue that Petrucci is more talented. Pogba is prob slightly better than Petrucci right now but def not miles ahead of him. Look out for Alvaro Pereira in the academy next year also, could be a future great in the centre. I feel I should also say that because of his style of play that I expect Tunnicliffe to reach his full potential before any of the names you mentioned, including Pogba, he isn't as technically good as Pogba or Petrucci, but I have a feeling he'll be a starter within the next 2-3 years
Pogba is miles ahead of petrucci, hence why at 18 pogba was playing in utds 1st team and petrucci is 21 and never made a first team appearance, yes he was out for a while injured but he as been back fully fit for well over 12 months and im pretty sure he hasn't even featured on the bench, so sorry but you are talking nonsense, I rate petrucci myself, but he isn't quick enough , running wise or on the ball and would be found out in the prem, he seemed a lot quicker before his injury he was out for over a year but surely his sharpness would be back now, and speed but it isn't! Andreas pereira do you mean? Yes a very good prospect but only young yet still only 16 hardly even played for our u18s dhaeli and januzaj are ahead of him at the min both look real top class!

Dazzmondo, that would all depend on Fletcher being fit from his illness and also matchfit which really still seems unlikely.

Every United fan should cling on to some hope he'll remain at the club. Because he's gonna be one of the midfield greats.

Assuming Anderson leaves and Fletcher doesn't fully recover, my midfielders next season would be:

    Carrick

    Pogba

    Cleverley

    Scholes

New Midfielder - Defence minded midfielder

I wouldn't assume Ando will leave at all. Don't believe the papers mate, around 85% of headlines are bull. It seems certain that Fletch will get a few games next season at the least. I would imagine Tunnicliffe will be promoted also. Even if he hasn't left yet, I think Pogba is the lest likely to be here next seson of the names you have mentioned

With that, those players contracts will have been up and we would have also given up their registration.

With Pogba and Fryers, despite them being out of contract, we will keep hold of their registration until they re-sign or sign with another club to entitle us to compensation. (with being U-24).

It's not in Uniteds best interests to "release" a young player who is of value.

So even with this registration thing, surely there would be some sort of announcement that their contract was up and there was no renewal?

I Just think it seems really strange.

Fergie usually does his business pretty quick in the transfer window, perhaps this is the reason a new midfield has not been signed. In that case I'm all for giving pogba, powell and all the other youth games over buying someone like modric

    Re: Has Pogba Left?

I find it very odd that it hasn't been announced by now. If he had already signed for Juve it would have been announced yesterday I'm sure. It looks like he still hasn't made up his mind.

I would very much like him to stay, watching him in the reserves he looked to have great potential but if he leaves then he's just a bit of a moron I'm afraid. I'm sure he'd get plenty more first team opportunities next year, it just seems like a really stupid stage of his career to leave us.

    Re: Has Pogba Left?

I would say he hasnt left

There has been an official announcement in terms of players released and neither Fryers or Pogba are one of them.

So going by that I would say with Pogba it is upto him to choose us or Juve and with Fryers I have a feeling he must be close to resigning...

If they were going to leave then surely they would have been announced today as players leaving due to not being given new contracts (Ie Owen, Kus and two youth players)

    imagination:
Blame fergy...At the end of the day, he's not allowing the youth nor club to move on by giving Scholes and Giggs continual new contracts...It doesn't matter if Scholes is one of the best midfielders sometimes you have to just move on...Zidane retired in great fitness i don't recall Madrid begging him to come back ...
Hahaha that is stupid. Pogba has proven nothing and tbh both Giggs and Scholes are still better (Even Giggs is better in CM at the moment and thats after a poor poor season in CM

Pogba had a few chances and played ok, but didnt show anything to warrant a start.. tbh his ungrateful and spoilt nature stopped him from appearing atleast another 6 times. Pogba if anything like Morrison only has himself to blame.

Just give the games to Petrucci and Powell.

When does/did his contract expire? 30th June 2012?

Therefore as from 01/07/2012 he would have become a free agent, although we would still hold his registration.

Im surprised their hasnt been any significant developments, meaning there will be some in the coming days i suspect.

I really hope Pogba stays. I am a little confused with Powell. Do not get me wrong I am really excited about him, but if we brought him in to go straight to the first team, is he better than Pogba??

Pogba would get tons of first team action if he stayed next season, and I am inclined to think that Pogba was better at 18 than Powell is, so it confuses me why he would be brought straight to the first team, when we have so many young players, that are also of great quality and the same age that we could have promoted first.

Powell has first team experience, been playing competitvely in League Two at 17 years old scored 15 goal and 7 Assists this season. He looked above all the players in the League Two which is saying something for 17 year old, Powell is better than League Two by far.

Pogba has the talent but he doesn't have the experience of Powell just yet which is why Powell will more likely come into the team straight away, the Reserves league isn't on the level of League Two.

If you want to compare Powell with other players Ox would be a good example, he plyed his trade with Soton in League One and cost what 10m, so good deal for us as far as im concerned and an exceptional talent.

Yes i agree that maybe he would not solve our midfield problem instantly but i felt he could make a simialr impact as what wilshere did at arsenal and just knowing we had a youngster with his ability waiting in the wings give me confidence, at the minute tunnicliffe is our only option as a ball winning mid, he as a great engine, runs all day full on commitment loves a tackle but is very weak with the ball at his feet, doesn't have a great footballing brain, and cant pass, shoot or dribble anywhere near what pogba can produce, i watched him alot at peterborough the fans loved his commitment but he very rarly started games and didnt get many assists and dont think he even scored 1 goal, where as if pogba was playing in the championship i feel he would command a guarenteed starting place, thats the difference tunnicliffe is flecher type good, where as pogba as the potential ability to be so much better hence why juve want him.
Do agree with that Pogba is more of a luxury player where as Tunnicliffe is more nitty gritty and will do an efficient job. I admire your faith in Pogba and I agree to an extent but it seems he doesn't want to be at this club so as far as im concerned he can leave and we can give the chance to someone who does want to be here like a Tunnicliffe or someone. In terms of your suggestion about replacing the quality of Pogba then Powell has that talent, rough around the edges he is a little but he has something very special about him.
I to like the look of powell, but he isnt anything like pogba, he plays as an all out attacking mid just in the hole or on the wings, couldn't imagine powell being played in a midfield 2 in a 442 formation, although he is young so maybe he as the ability to become a CM, but at the min he is very much an attacking mid. I agree if pogba wants to go let him go, but just disagree with fans who slate him and now claim he isnt all that just because he maybe leaving, no one knows the real reason he is having his head turned.
I was meaning more talent wise rather than position, I think Powell might be moulded into a CM eventually but utilised as an attacking midfielder for now. I agree with you mate, we don't know the real situation behind his decision which is still taking its time tbh, he is a talent theres no doubt about it but like I say he seems to want to leave which is a shame but not too big of a loss imo, obviously everyone has their opinions on our talent etc and I think you feel very strongly for Pogba which is fair enough.
