There's about 6 other threads on Lucas. Could you not have put this there?

    lucas moura erm doubtful . . . . .

its good this time of year talking about possible transfers thers always a couple that get us all thinking . . . . if only but you just dont feel its ever going to happen this is one of them . the term wonder kid gets used very often and only to often there not well lucas is a genuine wonder kid fast skillfull strong for a small brazilian id like this to happen like all united fans but cant see it plus young foreign stars often dont live up to expectation find it hard to adapt would he still have that great footwork in the rain with a soaking wet ball on a monday night. fergie does like his youngsters so ther is hope . like i say would like it to happen cant see it though unless one of you can tell me anything concrete to change my mind . oh yes and hes even said he dreams of madrid where av we heard that before .

I'd prefer a double swoop for Yohan Cabaye and Leighton Baines. Just my opinion.

Even if we did get him..(which is not going to happen) he'll go to madrid in 2-3 seasons..beside he's Brazillian..(Injury prone)..I think SAF is just opening the talks again so R.M reconsider him and forget about Modric..

    Re: Lucas Mour***

Ok Lucas is one of prob 3 young players that are worth more than £30m so those saying he is not have not seen him play. I have seen him play about 6 or 7 times and he is talented, for some reason strikes me as someone who might screw up his potential though, don't know why. Anyway he has the potential to be up there with Neymar and Messi and would be an amazing buy for our club. It would be very surprising though if we were to get him after we have got Kagawa, he could prob adapt relatively easily to the wing because of his tremendous dribbling ability but the cm position I'm not so sure of.

I don't believe he would have trouble adapting to the Premier League unlike his more famous compatriot Neymar. Maybe not the most reliable sources but in fairness they are still 2 seperate sources reporting the story at the same time. I do believe SAF is interested in him and met with his father and if he heard something promising regardless of whether he has filled a position or not he may believe that leaving the deal would be too good to pass up.

I have to say even though he doesn't play in a position we are lacking, I don't think you should ever pass up the chance to buy a player of that much talent, perhaps Sir Alex thinks that way also.

This is another nonsense story. There is no way we'd pay the kind of money mentioned for a player of his age who is completely unproven and hasn't even kicked a ball in Europe yet. I'd say there is more chance of a United delegation being in Denmark negotiating a deal for the Emperors new Clothes than there is one in Brazil for Moura.

Well..... You do understand that there is a reason for the likes of him and Hazard (for example) having such a high price-tag, don't you ? Right now he looks to have the potential to become one of the best players in the world........

It's not certain at all that he will become one of the best, and a player who are much cheaper can take his place instead.... But it's much more likely.... That's why he has a higher price.... If you want to get one of the most potential players around at the time, you have to spend big......

It has to do with not letting over clubs getting him too.... I mean, maybe we want him to play a season or two in Europe before judging how good he is, but when he has moved to Europe it's most likely to late to get him.... If we don't get him, he will most likely go to Real or Barca, and then they might end up with the next Messi... Do we want that ? We shouldn't let them get all the young potential players....

He might not have "proven" himself yet, or played in Europe.... But if you have watched him play, then you can't deny that he has some incredible skills, and even if he only will be able to do 50% of the tricks he do over there, he still would be a pain in the neck for the defenders to handle.....

Hmm understood but....we were seemingly prepared to pay 32M for 21YO Eden Hazard who plays for Lille, in a pretty poor standard league, and hasn't exactly "played in Europe" either. Plus, is nothing short of useless for his national side. Lucas, on the other hand, seems much more comfortable playing along side his compatriots although in a limited number of apps.

You would think playing along side such an arrogant little $h!t like Neymar would have a bad influence on the lad at such a young age, but seemingly quite the opposite - he goes about his job superbly and lets Neymar take the accolades. Great talent and without doubt a future star in the making, would be extremely happy if we were to pull something like this off.

Lol. It is an exorbitant amount of money for someone so unproven, and we have other issues to resolve.
