    Re: OT naming rights

i'm sure we would all be pretty upset if this happened.
it's an option to clear the dept for a temporary change. it's just an option i wouldn't want to see.
although the Sellotape Arena does have a ring to it...
Lol mate but like i said has long as its made clear Old Trafford had to be in the name then surely adding Nike or AON in the name would be a worthwhile sacrifice to clear this ball and chain round our necks.

I can see that 'american non football owners' who are heavily in debt just might see it as a good idea, they have probably been thinking along those lines for a while trying to gauge if they could put up with all the furore it would cause, but no doubt the money must be a strong driver for them.

The furore would be justified if Old Tafford was totally dropped from the name and lets say remamed McDonald arena but surely common sense would prevail we get a reputable sponsor such as Nike or Aon etc to have there brand added to the stadium name ?

If it can be done with some semblance of class with a dignified sponsor and completely pay off the debt it may well cause less fuss.

I'm totally for it. 400m for 10 years, bye bye debts. Club runs better. Every fan still calls it OT.
I agree, has long as Old Trafford is still used and the sponsor is not something stupid then surely this should be seen as an option by the club to get rid of this debt.
It protects the long term future. It might be slightly cheap but it does a job and gets United out of the hole the Glazers have put them in. "The Nike Old Trafford" Stadium isn't much of a sacrifice.
    City bought the title
City have ruined football with the money
    City are the devil

We need to buy Falcao Lucas and Modric though

Just want your views on OT naming rights, seeing City selling the council house naming rights for a ridiculous £400m surely it would be wise for us to think about it ? as long as the Old Tr afford is incorporated in the name for example Old Trafford Nike stadium, would you guys agree to something like this if the club could generate say £500m to clear its debts? I'm sorry if this offends but this whole debt thing is getting really worrying and i'm merely making suggestions.
I don't think people will take to this idea too well mate. I'm not going to give you grief but I think others will. My opinion is that I feel we actually have a bit of class, so won't concede our naming rights and become the Nike arena or something vulgar like that. There are better and more dignified ways to make money. The flotation on the stock market should go ahead soon, 25% going for £600 million or something like that, rather that way than this classless option that the neighbours did funnily enough.
It's so simple to be wise; think of something stupid to say and don't say it
