. I just think Fergie doesn't really like him that much!

funny because I think the complete opposite. In January 2011, he said " “Long term, I hope he [Anderson] can prove to be Paul’s successor,” Ferguson said. “It’s a big ask to reach that level and the challenge will test his confidence". And don't forget, Ando signed a new 5 year contract last year. I think Ferguson rates him highly, even with the injuries. To be honest, he is the person who's opinion matters the most.

    Think I agree with this.

Even if this is to be Ando's best season, that isn't exactly saying much is it? He hasn't done anything special since joining 5 years ago.
Since he's been here, in every season where he had 30+ appearances we won the league. He also came on for the end of the Champions League final vs. Chelsea and converted his penalty in the shootout. You may not like him, but you can't totally diss him saying he's done nothing special.

I'm suprised he's ever played 30 games in a season with his injury record. Maybe I am being a little harsh, but I don't think he's worked hard enough for us. He's at the worlds biggest club he should behave himself and work on his fitness levels, maybe then we'll see the best of him.

I understand. I do wonder how much of the laziness talk is accurate or just one of those notions that takes hold that a player can never seem to shake then with the fans/media.

It could be entirely possible that he's bored, unmotivated and wants to move though. I mean, the chance to come here at age 17 would be impossible to pass up, but the culture is very dissimilar from his home land, he has been here for 6 seasons and has won 3 titles and a champions league (plus the odd cup here/there). So who knows....maybe he can't be bothered like some say. I guess I just try to remain positive and give players the benefit of a doubt because I know how the media exaggerate things.

Re: This could be Anderson's best season

The thing is with Anderson is that his ability and potential never have been in question, his consistency and fitness however is a different story if Anderson went the whole of this season and only missed games through being rested then he would easily have people rating him as one of the better CM's in the world as he can do it all, he can defend, his passing is great, he is great at driving forward with the ball, he has good vision and recently has improved in front of goal a lot. Sadly I don't think he will ever get a full season where he stays injury free but this happens with some players, I think Anderson will be kept as we need the backup especially with Fletcher being injured, but if next season doesn't happen I see him being sold the season after.

Re: This could be Anderson's best season

Every season seems to be his first best season lol. Don't get me wrong, when fit he has the potential to become one of the best cm in the world, as we saw when partnered with Cleverley. But we also know it's improbable that he will get over those injuries. The same happens every season, with fans saying "let's give him one more chance", etc. Fair enough, but at some point we'll have to make a decision.

And still, how I would dream of a Ando-Cleverley-Kagawa three-man midfield week-in-week out. Hence why I would appreciate someone like Moutinho, or Allen here. To give us more technical/fast moving/mobile players on a consistent basis. As we saw, we can be devastating when all the pieces are there.

Do we really want to risk his...erh...evaluation dropping lower than £8m? Just kidding, if he stays fit on a consistent basis, he is a great player. But that is ...erh... improbable.

I still have high hopes for the lad if he can get over the injuries, I still believe if he was put beside someone like Cleverley or Kagawa, 2 flair/eager lads, we can see the best out of him, we saw that when he played with Cleverley at the start of last season, he has the speed, flair, strength, dribble, has a decent tackle and I think he could be better than any Modric or Moutinho but has to stay fit and get a regular run in the team.

Ive always liked Anderson very much, he was brilliant start of last season but he's injury prone Since Benfica seem interested i wouldnt hesitate in trashing out a deal which allows anderson to go Benfica and Axel Witsel to us. He's such a promising player who can play at every position in midfiield... I am a Belgian and i know and seen him play from start, also seen 10-15 matches from last year in Benfica. And i must say his last year in Standard Luik was already brilliant but he improved even more in benfica, if saf takes him under his wings he has the potential to turn into a world class midfielder

People have been saying this since he has been here,5 years later he has still not proved his worth,he is still injury prone,he still can't shoot the ball(the only Brazilian i know of that is afraid to take a dip at goal) i think it's time to cut are losses and stick a boot up his rear and get someone else or promote someone else.

    he just aint good enough.
Wrong. If he ever did get a run of games its quite easy to see he could be one of the most dominating CMs on the planet.
