one of the best CMs in the last double decade at United.
Bet you cant say that with a straight face ;)
He genuinely is. One of the most vital cogs in the most successful machine (team) in Fergies time.
    Whatever floats your boat, buddy.

You can make a case that carrick is a good player. But you cant say just because we have carrick we dont need any other reinforcements in centre mid. that's the main point. We dont really want another "is michael carrick all that thread"

Surely you can see how irrelevant that is? Given that Cleverley had been injured for 6-7 months. And the mere fact Park was picked for the City game is a testament to SAF's lack of belief in the ability of Carrick and Scholes to contain City's midfield threat. Next.
Cleverley was fit for the start of our Europa League campaign and started against Ajax. What happened between that time until the end of the season and why couldn't he get in ahead of Carrick?

Refresh my memory. How did those games turn out for us?
You are missing the point of the statement.
No. I got the just of it.
Please follow, as Diablo mentioned, Ando,Fletch,Clev were picked ahead of Carrick.

Carrick did well last season but you'll make yourself look like an idiot if you try to refute the point that he was low down in the pecking order at the start of the season, and only played so many games due to an unprecedented midfield injury crisis.
I must have touched a nerve for you to come up with a statement like that.
    el diablo:
Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Spurs at Old Trafford are small games now? Come on don't be ridiculous. And SAF's selections for the CL finals against Barcelona were not exactly vindicated were they? Unless you call 180 minutes of our midfield getting utterly dominated a vindication.
I think everybody knows that the games Anderson and Cleverley played in are much smaller in comparison to the games Carrick played in with regards to the season as a whole. If Carrick was really down the pecking order, he would not have rotated the team at the start, picking Carrick for the CL games, he would have blanked out Carrick completely. Injuries were just a coincidence that Carrick's critics would use as a reason for his inclusion in the side. The fact is SAF maintained at all times that Carrick would peak at November and he started every game since then. And with regards to getting utterly dominated, ive yet to see a team play Barcelona and dominate them. The title of the thread is Trust Michael Carrick and Carrick has been and still is trusted by the man who matters most.

He isn't world class. Carrick is what he is. A good midfielder than can do a job.

Well, you just mentioned the small games that SAF was experimenting at the start of the season, we might have played brilliant football with lots of flair but it resulted in David De Gea starting out on a very disappointing note and we were still trailing City. Perhaps you forgot how SAF picked Carrick in the CL final in 08 instead of Fletcher and Anderson and how SAF picked Carrick in the CL final in 09 ahead of Scholes, in 2011's CL final, hes picked Carrick ahead of Scholes,Anderson and Fletcher. And yet, last season was seen as Carrick's best, yes the season where you claim he didn't even play when the 3 were fit. I rest my case.

    Sepp Blatter:
Except when Cleverley was fit during the latter stages of the season he couldn't get a game. Couldn't even get a game ahead of Park in midfield. Next.
Surely you can see how irrelevant that is? Given that Cleverley had been injured for 6-7 months. And the mere fact Park was picked for the City game is a testament to SAF's lack of belief in the ability of Carrick and Scholes to contain City's midfield threat. Next.
