    Re: Anderson

Well if I remember right, he was used as an attacking midfielder or out on the left. Not quite the Rooney role. Even at Porto, he had a nasty injury which kept him out for a while and kept him from playing all that much for 'em.

Having said that - I don't think that we should play people solely in the positions they were in when we signed them. That would just be silly. He needed to improve his all-round game which he has done, though again injuries have stunted his development. Also, to fit into the system we play, he had to add discipline and defensive know how to his game. He has all the qualities to be a top quality box-to-box midfielder. We've seen how dominant he can be there in patches. Also, there is no way he was going to displace Wazza in that position behind another forward or Kagawa now. I definitely think CM is the best position for him...

Now can we get him to follow Giggy's example and take up yoga or something? Honestly we should try everything to ensure he stays fit for a prolonged period.

    Anderson

I need someone to clear something up for me. When we signed Anderson, he was an attacking midfielder right? He played the Rooney role? Can anyone clear up where he played.

Ive sign people suggest he play left back and only today in a form, a deep lying defensive midfielder.. This seems wrong to me but i maybe be wrong.

We offer 10Million for Baines and it is rejected.......Everton Value him at closer to 20Million..........
He's not worth anywhere above 12m. And Everton are in no financial position to be demanding that kind of money for a 27 year old left back.
It depends on whether he wants to leave or not. I think he still has 3 years left on his contract so it's not as if Everton will be desperate to sell him quickly at this point. Also, they are highly unlikely to find a replacement anywhere near as good as Baines given their financial position.

Let's get it straight. Last season's best PL left back is not good enough, but a midfielder whoeats more than he trains and who you never watched as a LB is the answer? Could it be you're just moaning about Baines not being flashy enough?
Evra wasn't last season's best LB.

Cole, Baines, and Clichy were better.

I think he meant Baines when he mentioned the best PL left back.

I would consider this a terrible idea but I do remember an occasion when someone suggested we play Valencia at right back years ago and not many agreed to say the least, including myself. A year or so later it happened so who knows.

    Re: Anderson aiming to impress!

Anderson will never be worldclass. He doesnt have what it takes to be that.He doesnt have the skills, confidence or belif to be one and he doesnt have the ambition to be worldclass. He is lazy as hell and still cant strike a ball properly.Even if he could become a great player,he doesnt have the drive to become one.

I see people say "This will be Andersons year" Yeah right, just like the previous 4 years.

For Anderson to impress,he must show something really spectacular and not just in a game or two but over the course of 38 games. And that will never happen.

    Don`t hate on my opinion!

Shame it's taken him 5 years to realise he needs to be a lot, lot better.

He was never going anywhere. SAF has massive belief in the lad. We all said last season it was a make or break season for him. But this season really is. Showed his potential at the start of the season. Unfortunately it was same old same old. I think he can be world class. Just needs to stay injury free.
Yeah I agree, this season is really make or break for him. If he doesn't perform this season then in my opinion he should be sold.

Didn't Anderson play LB and he claimed to like it there? Not saying: "Hey lets play him there now" just asking
